Where: The Center for Architecture, 403 NW 11th Avenue , Portland, OR 97209
This is also home of the American Institute of Architects. It is about 4 blocks south of the Ecotrust building where we normally meet, on the corner of NW 11th and Flanders.
There is not food or onsite parking at this location, but you should find both within a few blocks.

The Rakudo * release of Perl 6 on Parrot is almost here. Whether you want to get your own feet wet, or help wetten someone else's feet, join us to write some Perl 6 code and share some learning.
We'll begin with introductions, cover some basics, and then work in small groups or pairs for about an hour, followed by a recap, then (of course) beer.
If you can bring a laptop, download and install rakudo ahead of time:

The Web Standards movement pushed us to banish non-semantic presentational markup from our HTML. As a result, we struggled over meaningless decisions - should I use a list or a table? NO TABLE BAD!
It's time to rethink what we mean be semantics in our markup. The new W3C standard RDFa (RDF in Attributes) can make our lives as Web and technology professionals easier and more sensible, without angst over whether or not to use tables. |
