description nil → OSCON JVM Language Symposium Sunday, July 24, 2011 from 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM (PT) Portland, OR Free. Registration required. The OSCON JVM Language Symposium is a free, open-spaces conference for implementers and users of different languages on the Java Virtual Machine. We will have several of the biggest names in JVM languages in attendance, and an open format where you can propose and lead sessions, or simply hang out and hack on a new or interesting language idea. This means we will have no planned agenda for the conference and it will be decided by the attendees. Some of the languages you can expect to learn about include: Scala, Clojure, Groovy, JRuby, Fantom, Gosu, and (insert your favorite JVM language here). This is a free event happening the Sunday before OSCON Java (registration for the OSCON Java conference is not required). We are holding this in the OSCON Java space at the Oregon Convention Center, so we will have plenty of space to hack and collaborate.

update Calagator::Event 1250460849 Smallest Federated Wiki Collaboration Session Roll back

description Wiki-founder Ward Cunningham shared his idea of a Smallest Federated Wiki SFW during IndieWebCamp this June. In a few short weeks, he has brought his idea to life and is inviting others to work with him on it! Come to PIE for a short hack session on "smallest federated wikis". Max Ogden will also be joining us from San Francisco! What is SFW? The Smallest Federated Wiki project wants to be small in the "easy to learn powerful ideas" version of small. It wants to be a wiki so that strangers can meet and create works of value together.
