We are hosting a LAN Party in Beaverton.

60+ seats with gigabit connections. 2 hosted game servers. Some games will be available for demo while at the LAN for those considering owning the full game later.

We will have both a Steam game server and a non steam server. Both will be connect tot he LAN and available to join games and play new friends at the LAN.

Please see our site for information and registration. Those with advanced registration will be given preference at the LAN party for seating.

Admission fee may be waved for those who can not afford to pay full price (email for free tickets). Additional donations always welcome.

FUNDAMENTALS OF ANIMATION

Christina Beard will present on the fundamentals of animation, and how those principles can be applied to web development. Her talk will explore the basic animation principles used by character animators the world over for studios like Disney, Pixar or Studio Ghibli and how those same principles can be applied to create more pleasing and engaging motion graphics and design for web developers.

Christina is a Portland born and raised designer and animator. She has worked for the video game industry as an animator and game designer, as well as on commercials, graphic design and front end web development. Outside of work she loves to write fiction and play video games.

The biggest Angular conference in the world, ng-conf is taking place in two weeks in Salt Lake City. This year, they're allowing remote locations to live stream and we're opening our office in the Pearl for the full two day event. She is experienced at conducting and applying a variety of primary and secondary research methods to inform integrated creative campaigns including focus groups, field observation, brainstorming sessions, market research, and online activity observation. These insights then get developed into personas for target audience segments to help teams and clients envision who they’re speaking to.

Alicia enjoys giving back to the community by taking on pro bono work for nonprofits and leading branding workshops to help the entrepreneurial community. She has been asked to speak by organizations such as USC, Etsy, Anvil Media, and PSU. Nonprofit work has included content writing for AIGA, as well as brand strategy and design for several nonprofits such as Portland City Club, Fashion Collective Portland, and June Key Delta Community Center in North Portland.
