description nil Deno's Pizzeria has been a fixture in the Lake Grove neighborhood of Lake Oswego since the early 1980's and has been locally owned and operated by Kathleen Valentine since 1997. The warm friendly atmosphere attracts families and employees living and working in the area. Pizzerias are highly recognized for their very special pizza crust. The food is always fresh, with dough and sauce prepared daily from Deno's own distinctive recipes. And don't forget the Caesar salads topped with Deno's famous Caesar dressing (Also, available for purchase by the bottle). The menu is packed with traditional and specialty pizzas. The BBQ Chicken, Spinach Popeye, Alfredo Combo and Hombre with Chicken or Beef are just a few of our customers' favorite specialty pizzas. Of course, our pepperoni and combination pizzas are among the traditional favorites.

description nil LAS GNOME is the first U.S. based conference for GNOME, the free software desktop. This conference focuses on the Linux application story bringing in people from all across the Linux eco-system to build a powerful platform to design applications for the Web and Linux platform on all devices. This conference for you if you want to learn how to write ubiquitous apps that will work on any Linux distribution, contribute to a new application distribution model that puts control back on the developer instead of the OSV, and finally improve the general tooling on the Linux platform with the kind of tools that you would find on OSX and Windows. Registration is free, although we ask for a reasonable donation. We have some amazing and well known speakers including Matthew Garrett , Alexander Larsson, creator of Flatpak, and Matt Dalio, CEO of Endless. Bring your Linux applications and we will help you flatpak them so they run anywhere! Help us expand the market for Linux applications, and build the kind of eco-system that will support entrepreneurs build new products based on Linux platform.

create Calagator::Event 1250470674 Elixir Games PDX - Plenty of Blame to go Around Roll back

description nil We've looked at Supervision trees in the past, but we've often glossed over how to best use them to your advantage. It's quite easy to accidentally use these fault-tolerance primitives to, somewhat ironically, make your applications less fault-tolerant. This month we'll take a look at design and implementation practices to help make sure you're using these incredible tools to your best advantage. For the newcomers, the "Games" format is designed to create a bit of friendly competition and is accessible for all ranges of experience; beginners and pros alike. If you'd like to take a look at the previous sessions' exercises feel free to check them out here: https://github.com/elixir-pdx/, some submitted solutions are available on non-master branches. Early in this series we'll be focusing mostly on solving problems in a functional paradigm, and as the series continues over time we'll move more and more toward Elixir's differentiators; Erlang interop, hygienic macros, & OTP patterns. If all that read like gibberish to you, don't worry you don't have to know any of that jargon, and by the time you do everything will already make sense. Because we'll introduce ideas and concepts in a way that will help you understand those things conceptually before you ever need a weird name for them. Food and drinks will be provided. Please make sure you come with a computer to work on and have Elixir pre-installed locally or in a VM and ready to go. http://elixir-lang.org/install.html Special thanks to my friend Jeff Weiss and Puppet, ‘the leader in IT automation’, for hosting us.

description nil Yes! We're on for having another meet & greet networking session. There's many new faces that have joined the group and it's time we get to know each other a bit more. To make the most of the time together, we'll start with a slightly structured networking session. What is structured about it, you ask? Here's the quick summary: We'll start with a quick meet & greet. You'll have a chance to meet nearly everyone one-on-one, briefly, before moving onto making another quick connection with another. Then, in the second half of the meetup, we'll break up into smaller group chats based on shared interests and/or encourage folks to further their conversations with the folks they've found a shared interest in during the initial meet-greet. Bring your business cards (or post-its and a pen) and be ready to meet and reacquaint yourself with peers working at the intersection of education and technology.

description nil The organizers of the upcoming October Portland Science Hack Day, including the OHSU Library, are hosting a happy hour meet and greet. Science Hack Day is an event where anyone excited about making things with science comes together to see what they can prototype in 24 hours. As described in this recent Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences article, these events are valuable and often transformative for scientists. Learning the guts of our equipment, hardware, and software helps researchers to improve transparency and reproducibility. It helps us learn new skills and forge collaborations to build the tools and software we need, rather than relying on proprietary resources. Never hacked before? Wednesday’s meet & greet is for you! Hack Day enthusiasts will be there to share their experiences and ideas to get you inspired for Portland Science Hack Day in October. There will also be a raffle for two $50 Powell’s Books gift cards. Anyone who is excited about making things with science and technology is encouraged to attend. Learn more, get inspired, form a team!
