The event will focus on how to market your non-tech experience to hiring managers in the tech industry, and how your experience can be relevant in a tech role! Employing individuals with a diversity of backgrounds and skills can support tech employers in having a well-rounded workforce which can strengthen a team's ability to produce effective results.</p> <p>Employers can come to this event to meet job seekers with unique and compelling skill sets, job seekers can come to meet employers committed to diversifying their teams, and all are welcome to hang out, network, and tell their own stories of how they arrived in the tech industry.</p> <p>Purpose:</p> <p>PDXWIT is a community-based non-profit organization. Our purpose is to strengthen the Portland women in tech community by offering educational programs, partnerships, mentorships, resources and opportunities. We are unifying a supportive environment for current and potential women in tech, all of whom are committed to helping each other. Our goal is to bring together and empower women in tech and to encourage others to pursue tech careers.
