Even if becoming a founder isn’t your dream, this film is a must-see. The women who produced and directed the film explore female under-representation and gender inequity in tech, as well as issues many women face such as risk aversion and self-doubt. The filmmakers’ goal, as stated on indigogo, “is to inspire young women to become entrepreneurs and consider careers in tech, and also educate about how to sustain that career.”

By following the story of these five founders, you’ll be amazed to see what ingenuity, hard work, temerity, and focus can accomplish. We intend to create an even more impactful experience by inviting the members of PDXWIT to watch this film together. This event is another opportunity to realize that our strength and talent is changing the future of technology.

PDXWIT is a community-based non-profit organization. Our purpose is to strengthen the Portland women in tech community by offering educational programs, partnerships, mentorships, resources and opportunities. We are unifying a supportive environment for current and potential women in tech, all of whom are committed to helping each other. Our goal is to bring together and empower women in tech and to encourage others to pursue tech careers. This is our step towards reducing the gender imbalance in the industry and addressing the current negative effects of that imbalance on women.
