create Calagator::Event 1250476286 PDX Exploit Workshop Roll back

description nil Hey everybody. Got a bug you just can't land? Is there a recent CVE you've been eyeballing seductively? Just want to brush up on your APPSEC or OPSEC? Do none of the above questions make any sense, but you're interested in computer security? PDX Exploit Workshop is the longest running security meetup in Portland (10 years!). It's an open, self driven event for people interested in computer security. Whether you're a novice or career professional, all are welcome. It's always a good time to learn about security! We spend this dedicated time each week researching and exploring topics of software and hardware security as well as working on personal and group projects. Occasionally we have presentations on our findings. Bring a willingness to learn, a curiosity about security, and/or a specific area of interest to share with others. This group meets in the PDX Hackerspace mainspace which has comfy seating, deluxe wifi (thanks Kyle!), Club Mate soda in the snack shack, and hackable LED displays to play around with. p.s. This event is open to everyone! No ^H membership is required to attend. All are welcome. That means you!

create Calagator::Event 1250476285 Open Hack Night! Roll back

description nil Every Second Friday is Open Hack Night here at ^H. Come hangout with us at the most happening (and productive) place in town! Hackerspace activities encompass Hardware, Software, Crafting/Textiles, all the Realities (Real, Virtual and Augmented), Infosec, Audio/Video, Cryptocurrencies, Gaming, you name it - if it's technology then it's in scope. Our Hackerspace is a place where people with an interest in computing or technology can gather to work on projects while sharing ideas, equipment, and knowledge. There is plenty of table space, bandwidth and 3D printers (for those looking to try that out). Bring your ideas, works in progress, or something to show off. We'll see you there!

description nil ***Registration through Eventbrite [https://www.eventbrite.com/e/5th-annual-pdxwit-celebration-awards-ceremony-women-tech-holiday-party-tickets-75172203083] is required to gain entry to this event *** Join us Wednesday, December 11th at Bumped for our 5th Annual Celebration + Awards Ceremony! 2019 has been another big year for the PDXWIT and we are thrilled to come together at bumped, for the FIFTH year, to celebrate the holidays and what we’ve accomplished. The theme of the event will be Celebrating our Community. In honor of our theme, Celebrating Community, our conversation starter for the night will be “How do you celebrate your community?” We will also be hosting our annual Awards Program. Stay tuned for details on how to nominate and vote for Best Contributor and Best Speaker! While the event is primarily intended for networking, we will have a short program to hear from our sponsors and introduce and announce awards. During the event, we’ll have more to do than free-form networking: An activity table where people can get creative. This is a fantastic way to meet others if large groups are not your thing. If you have trouble finding it, look for Meg Aul, our Event Activities Director. Table topics to help break the ice. A section for job seekers and those hiring to ensure people get connected. A #GiveGuide table with raffle prizes and other goodies for folks who decide to support PDXWIT that evening. Agenda: 5:30 p.m. - Doors open / networking 6:30 p.m. - Introductions and Awards 7:30 p.m. - Additional networking and celebration of our community 8:00 p.m. - Event ends Event FAQ Q: Will there be gender neutral restrooms? A: No Q: Is the space ADA accessible? A: Yes Q: Will there be food and drink at this event? A: Yes Q: What is the parking situation? Q: Is there any special information that might help me find the entrance? A: The elevators are the only way up to the suite. They will be unlocked during event hours. Q: Is there secured bike parking? A: No Q: Should I consider using public transportation? A: Yes, the location is right off of several bus lines as well as the max line. Q: Can I bring my dog? A: No. We ask that you leave your furry friend at home. Purpose: PDXWIT is a community-based non-profit organization. Our purpose is to strengthen the Portland women in tech community by offering educational programs, partnerships, mentorships, resources and opportunities. We are unifying a supportive environment for current and potential women in tech, all of whom are committed to helping each other. Our goal is to bring together and empower women in tech and to encourage others to pursue tech careers. This is our step towards reducing the gender imbalance in the industry and addressing the current negative effects of that imbalance on women. Our events are inclusive. ALL people who support our purpose are welcome.

update Calagator::Event 1250476241 AI/ML Unconference Roll back

description We're hosting an unconference focused on finding ways to use AI and machine learning to improve the lives of everyone in the community on October 19, 2018 in Portland, Oregon. Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) are predicted to affect aspects of every business, government agency and organization. In order to understand, better use and control these technologies and changes. We ran a similar event a year and a half ago and everyone got a lot out of it. Many things have changed since then and many issues are the same. Let's figure out where we stand. This will be a great way to meet others in the community and discuss related topics of interest and concern. Get your ticket today. There is a small fee that will go towards lunch and supplies. Any extra funds will be donated to a local non-profit.
