create Calagator::Event 1250461951 Oregon TMC & PACE - Career Models – Ignore Them At Your Peril Roll back

description nil Co-sponsored by: ortland State Univeristy Business Accelerator <p>Career Models – Ignore Them At Your Peril</p> <p><em>How can engineers advance their career? How can managers develop a high performing team? How can both succeed at the same time? </em></p> <p><strong><em>Date: February 15th, 2012</em></strong></p> <p>Everyone seems to have an opinion on what drives success – more education, the right project, working with leading edge technology, chemistry, knowing the right person, networking, and more – but the truth is what works for one person often doesn’t work for another. </p> <p>Career Models presents a multidimensional framework of unwritten rules, unique personal strengths, and the role of emotions common to successfully advancing career stages. The framework describes what contributes to a successful career at any career stage. This presentation will help engineers and managers to make informed decisions and avoid missteps that can derail a career. Managers will learn what contributes to successful staff development and project completion. </p> Speaker(s): John Prohodsky, Agenda: <p><b>5:30 P.M. Registration table opens</b></p> <p><b>5:30 – 6:00 P.M. Food and networking</b></p> <p><b>6:00 – 7:30 P.M. Presentation and Q & A</b></p> Location: Room: Mt. Hood Room, 2nd floor. description nil Season 6, episode 4 Get up early and work on your side projects with some like-minded geeks! TechCoffee is part running club, part knitting bee, and part hackathon. It's hard to work on all of your amazing ideas after a long workday, so instead we get up early. And we get together, so we have the reinforcement of other people up early, too. A couple hours a week can make a big difference. So bring your laptops and your work ethic to PDX TechCoffee. Or, if you can't be there in person, join us on IRC at #techcoffee on FreeNode. One commit a week is all we ask.

create Calagator::Event 1250461944 Measuring the ROI of Your Marketing Efforts- From Traditional to Digital Roll back

description nil Social media is here to stay. Ask anyone in marketing — it’s becoming a bigger part of everyone’s department. No matter where any company is in their adoption timeline, they are all asking basic questions about metrics, ROI and long-term strategy. Chris Murphy, Director of Brand Communications and Digital Marketing for adidas, has learned some valuable lessons about measurements and ROI through initiatives both successful, and less so. He will be discussing those lessons and how they’re informing future adidas efforts in the social space. Plan now to attend this exciting Professional Development event! Dinner begins at 5:30 p.m. followed by the presentation from 6-7 p.m. Chris Murphy, Head of Digital Marketing, adidas US Chris has been with adidas for five years, starting in the eCommerce group as a consultant, moving into Digital Marketing where he led that team for three years, and now as the Director of Brand Communications and Digital Marketing. He has held both global and regional management positions while at adidas. Chris began his career in Digital Marketing in 1998 with a small .com start-up in Hood River, OR. In 2001, he began consulting online retailers and agencies on website development and online selling tools. In 2003, he returned to school at the University of Oregon to receive his MBA in Sports Business. Chris currently lives in Portland, Oregon with his wife, Hilary, daughter, Lydia, Labrador Retriever, Lily, and his bicycles. Chris and his teams have received a number of industry awards, including being named a viral video finalist at the 2006 Cannes Festival, the 2007 Best Use of Mobile Marketing Cross-Media Integration award from the Mobile Marketing Association, the 2008 Overall Excellence Award from the Mobile Marketing Association, and a top 100 ranking by Vitrue as a most social brand in 2009 and 2010. During his time at the Head of Digital Marketing, adidas received more Facebook Case Studies than any other brand. Additionally, Chris has been a speaker at iMedia Brand Summit, ad:tech, the Mobile Marketing Association Forum, Mobile Future Forward, and is a founding co-chair of the Digital Collective.

description "Avoiding the Spaghetti" by Henrik Joreteg Clientside code doesn't have to be an ugly cluttered mess. Building clean, sane, maintainable client-side applications is indeed possible. We'll talk a bit about CommonJS on the client, properly abstracting a model layer, the DOM as a dumb view layer, sharing code between client/server and other techniques for avoiding insanity like automated static code analysis. Henrik is a partner and lead JS developer at &yet (http://andyet.net), a boutique web software company in Richland, WA. He's a member of a growing group of javascript developers who are blazing the trail of realtime and single-page web application development and server-side javascript. description Ignite Portland is an exciting, fast-paced, night of presentations where people can share their passions and burning ideas. The rules are fairly simple: 20 sides x 15 seconds per slide (auto-advancing) = 5 minutes of awesome. Presentations can be on nearly any topic, so long as they can teach, enlighten, or inspire us. Doors at 5PM with donation for the Oregon Food Bank Doors at 5:45 without donation For more details: http://igniteportland.org/2012/01/30/how-to-get-the-most-out-of-ignite-portland-10-with-oregon-food-bank/ Ignite Portland is an exciting, fast-paced, night of presentations where people can share their passions and burning ideas.
