Before getting into the tech industry, Derek's resume was almost exclusively sales experience. In 2018 he applied for a Junior SQL Developer position at a large energy company. To his surprise, he landed an interview without formal training or experience. With 3 weeks to prepare for his interview, he completed The Tech Academy's program through the Database course and got the job! Now he joins us to share his experience and advice for surviving and thriving in your new career.

In addition to doing taxes she is the CEO of Braille Skateboarding and has spoken at VidCon several years in a row about taxes for self employed YouTube creators.
