create Calagator::Event 1250464749 PDXNode presentation night Roll back

description nil Monthly presentation night! Talks to be announced soon. We'll also be starting a couple of monthly segments and would LOVE your participation and submissions-- 1. "Stump the Chump", a 15-minute round of anything-goes, ask any question that's been irking you about Node.js. Those williing can stand up to help answer the question in an open, friendly learning environment. 2. "Modules You Should Know", a different module featured each month. We'd love for people to take a stab at this lightning-style talk. Learn a module, share it with us, help close that discovery gap that is growing in Node.js! It will be a nice variety of topics and level of talks. If anyone is interested, we could also take discussions to post-talk drinks nearby. Maybe even hack a little.

update Calagator::Event 1250464088 Beaver BarCamp 12 Roll back

description Join us at the 12th Beaver BarCamp hosted by the OSU Open Source Lab. Beaver BarCamp is an informal conference where everyone is encouraged to participate and the sessions are not predetermined. It provides a collaborative environment that promotes the sharing of ideas and projects and is a fun, casual event filled with discussions, demos and interaction with attendees. One of the best aspects of BarCamp is that attendees both provide the sessions and choose the schedule, allowing for greater flexibility and freedom. What kind of sessions happen at Beaver BarCamp? All kinds--from the recreational to the technical. While many are tech oriented, we encourage any DIY, educational or interactive session. Most sessions are 60 minutes, but 30 minute sessions are also available. Join us at the 12th Beaver BarCamp hosted by the OSU Open Source Lab. description nil Senator Jeff Merkley, a champion of startups and small businesses in Oregon, will be up for re-election in 2014. We have a chance to ensure his success through your efforts this fall. As many of you know, Senator Merkley wrote the bipartisan CROWDFUND Act to open up online capital-raising for small businesses. It became law last year and the SEC is currently working on the rules. CROWDFUND is going to revolutionize fundraising for early stage startups in markets without large venture capital ecosystems. And Senator Merkley has been a leader on increasing student access to STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) courses and teachers – a vital ingredient to building Oregon's tech workforce in future generations. Please join us for an afternoon reception with Senator Jeff Merkley and learn more about his support of our startups. Suggested Contribution Levels: Event Host $500 - Includes entry for two to host’s reception at 1:30 p.m. Supporter $250 - Includes entry for one adult
