Tech Professionals Networking & Happy Hour Event
Oak Tree Station

It really is spring now, I think! Let's hangout with some drinks and talk about tech! At the last meeting we discussed the possibility of an anti-rooster device, 'hotdog, not hotdog' and other tech oddities. Our events provide a welcoming space to share ideas, explore emerging technologies, and establish meaningful connections that are outside the workplace. Whether you're seeking inspiration, support, or simply a friendly conversation, our community has something for everyone. Join us and experience like-minded individuals who enjoy tech! (and talking about it!) Since it should be warm(er) I wanted to head back to the Camas food trucks. There's usually plenty of open tables and lots of great food choices here! Looking forward to seeing you there!

• What we'll do You will drink coffee (and tea for those who are recovering caffeine addicts) and talk with other great founders and companies in our local area.

• What to bring Nada. Just a friendly demeanor and willingness to meet new great founders and talk about your project.

• Important to know This is REALLY not the place you want to come if you are looking for sales leads. This event is a place to meet and share your startup journey and talk about your project. While we appreciate all the members of our community, network marketing and sales reps will find many short unuseful conversations in this crowd. Thanks for understanding.

Techies' GameCon at NedSpace (board and video games)
NedSpace Broadway

Come join us to network with fellow techies, and experience a vast array of games, ranging from party games to middleweight and heavyweight games! We will have over 30 board games available. NedSpace is a large space, featuring 10 private gaming rooms and 3 large common areas each equipped with 1 to 3 tables, accommodating 4 to 8 players per table.

The NedSpace and GameCon communities are very welcoming and a great place to make friends, for new and experienced gamers alike. We can help you find a group to play with when you arrive or let you explore! With the event running for 5+ hours - from 2 PM to 7 PM (or a little later!), you'll have time to break out some more crunchy games if you desire. It's also great for playing lots of shorter party games and everything in between.

BEFORE THE EVENT Join NedSpace's active Discord, where you can chat about the next game night and learn more about NedSpace. You can also schedule games or arrange carpools on the game night channel. On Discord, please make your username your name or nickname, so other members know who you are - it really helps for finding people at the event!

You may want to bring:

  • board games
  • snacks to share
  • weather protection (jacket, umbrella)
  • water bottle, reusable plate, fork (or use our provided dishes)

NAVIGATING GAME NIGHT Please make a name tag when you arrive, and feel free to grab food & drinks in NedSpace's kitchen. Folks tend to socialize for the first 30 minutes, and new games start every 20-30 minutes.

If you have any questions during the event (including needing help finding a game to play/join), you can ask in the game night channel on Discord or ask one of our hosts (Lana or Sean and possibly Faris, Jarod or Ripley)

FOOD INFO We provide some snacks, drinks, and other food. We encourage you to bring your favorite foods to share as well. If you bring enough for 10-15 people, that's awesome!

Portland Design Thinkers is excited to present Tom Briggs: Timeless Human Design

In a world that is drowning in data, humanity stands infatuated with the immediate. Culture mining offers design thinkers an antidote to the demands of 24/7, "ever-faster" technocracy. By acknowledging that there's nothing new under the sun and examining timeless historical lessons through a modern lens, we can discern a wiser path forward.

About our speaker: Tom Briggs is founder of epigraph, a strategic design collective that blends culture, history, and data in service of disrupted and disruptive organizations of all scales across diverse industries. As a published and internationally cited design researcher, Tom Briggs is a Center for Creative Leadership graduate, altMBA graduate, and in the past has taught Introduction to Design Strategy at Oregon State University. An active mentor at Entrepreneurs Roundtable Accelerator, New York City's largest startup incubator, Tom enjoys helping values-led brands identify and articulate their distinctive purpose, values, and mission in order to better forge sustainable competitive advantage. We're very excited to welcome you to the Portland C++ User's Group (PDXCPP) meetup! Join us in downtown Portland to hobnob, learn, and share with other Modern C++ enthusiasts! Bring your C++ questions, stories of coding adventure, and tales of debugger derring-do!

This month, we will be meeting at the Lucky Labrador Brewpub on SE Hawthorne.

NOTE: We're not really meant to be a "bar group", as kind as the folks at Lucky Lab have been. We are seeking a suitable small venue space, preferably with whiteboards and projectors. If your company is interested in hosting our group, please contact us!

Re-Threading Our Social Fabric: Building Human Connection Together
Forest Grove City Auditorium

Integrative Trauma Treatment Center (ITTC) is hosting a community event centered on creating connection through conversation, using shared reflection, storytelling, and meaningful dialogue as tools for connection and growth. Together, we’ll watch the Learning through Storytelling video, which explores Rwanda’s remarkable journey of recovery and reconnection after the 1994 genocide. Through guided reflection and open discussion, we’ll examine both Rwanda’s cultural strengths and our own personal and collective pathways to connection. The evening will also include space to share snacks and mingle—offering an opportunity to practice connection in real time.

What to Expect:

Watch the Learning Through Storytelling Documentary created by ITTC As you watch, consider: Consider Rwanda's ability to recover and connect following 1994 genocide Identify Rwanda's cultural strengths that enabled recovery and reconnection.

Reflection & Dialogue Use the video as a springboard for personal exploration:

What helps me reconnect when I’ve experienced disconnection or pain? What gets in the way of reconnection for me? What does collective healing look like in my own community?

Snacks & Connection Transition into a break with snacks available. Create space for informal mingling and connection—an embodied opportunity to practice the very reconnection we’re discussing.

{SAVE THE DATE} Portland startup community cookout
The Redd

A lowkey networking event for the Portland startup community. But this time, it's a cookout.

No programming. No speeches. Just people meeting people in the community. And this time, we'll all be eating amazing Portland food. (We kind of think of it as one of those "after parties" that take place at a major event — without having to have the actual major event.)

We're doing it all over again. And we hope that you'll join us.

Please stay tuned! More details as they become available.

NAVIGATING GAME NIGHT Please make a name tag when you arrive, and feel free to grab food & drinks in NedSpace's kitchen. Folks tend to socialize for the first 30 minutes, and new games start every 20-30 minutes.

Startup Train to Seattle
Union Station

Come join us on a leisurely ride up to Seattle from Portland as we connect and learn from founders working on remarkable startups.

How this works: - Buy a coach ticket from Amtrak for the 8:30am departure from Portland's Union Station to King St (usually around $27). - We will all meet in the bar car once the train is underway. - About an hour into the trip we will have founders pitch their startups. - Each company will get 5 minutes with 5 minutes of Q&A/Feedback

This event is part of Seattle Tech Week. Hopefully, you will be hanging out in Seattle for the rest of the week's events. We may book a return trip, so keep an eye open for that.

All travelers are responsible for their own ticket costs and travel. Organizers are not affiliated with Amtra, so we cannot guarantee tickets, discount costs, or provide any other services related to this event.

This event is being put together by UpStart Collective.
