create Calagator::Event 1250473242 PHPDX - Server Provisioning and Configuration Roll back

description nil <p>Pizza, learning, and a great time to network with the fabulous PHP Community!</p> <p>If you're looking to move beyond basic managed hosting, you're going to need to understand Server Provisioning and Configuration. This month Kurtis is going to introduce us to a few cloud providers, and then examine basic Provisioning and Configuration. We'll learn hands on by provisioning a new server on Vultr. After the new server is up and running, we'll install some packages and do some basic PHP configuration to get a basic app up and running. We'll discuss the differences between running PHP as an Apache module (mod-php), a FastCGI script, or processing the code through PHP-FPM unix socket. Level up your server knowledge to level up your career.</p>

description nil Another weekly meeting, at another location. Even though this is nominally a bar, the website says it is open to minors until 9pm. There will be more Municipal Broadband PDX discussion in the build up to the second monthly demonstration at City Hall this weekend. Russell can report on his re-listen to the 2007 City Council Work Session on Community Fiber, and the general lack of imagination in evidence.

update Calagator::Event 1250473234 PDX Women in Tech (PDXWIT) Seasoned Women in Tech Roll back

description ***Registration through Eventbrite [https://www.eventbrite.com/e/pdx-women-in-tech-pdxwit-seasoned-women-in-tech-tickets-42885948025] is required to avoid having to manually check-in at the event *** If you are a woman working in tech and you have 15 or more years of experience, we are your people! Come join us for a happy hour with a Lean Coffee discussion drawing wisdom from the group about what has worked well — or not — in building good working relationships with staff much younger than you. If you’re tired of dressing in jeans or workout gear to fit in with the crowd, if video games have lost their allure as a topic of conversation, and drinking games with the guys after work is not attractive, we’re with you. That said, as you’ve evolved, you’ve likely learned a tip or two to preserve your sense of who you are as seasoned women while “playing well with others.” Show up and do tell. You can learn more about how Lean Coffee works here. Refreshments will be provided, courtesy of our friends at Garden Bar. Agenda 5:30 p.m. - Gather, chat and nosh. 6:00 p.m. - Lean Coffee discussion, broken into groups. 7:15 p.m. - Compare learnings across the Lean Coffee subgroups. Event FAQ Q: Will there be gender neutral restrooms? A: Yes. Q: Is the space ADA accessible? A: Yes. However, we have a step at the main entrance, so we will guide attendees with wheelchairs through an alternate entrance. Q: Where there be food and drink at this event? A: Yes, drinks and refreshments will be provided. Q: What is the parking situation? A: Metered parking is available on NE 15th Avenue, and free street parking is available along NE 16th Ave. Q: Is there secured bike parking? A: Secured bike parking is not available at this venue. Q: Should I consider using public transportation? A: Yes! There are multiple public transit options convenient to the venue. Purpose: PDXWIT is a community-based non-profit organization. Our purpose is to strengthen the Portland women in tech community by offering educational programs, partnerships, mentorships, resources and opportunities. We are unifying a supportive environment for current and potential women in tech, all of whom are committed to helping each other. Our goal is to bring together and empower women in tech and to encourage others to pursue tech careers. This is our step towards reducing the gender imbalance in the industry and addressing the current negative effects of that imbalance on women. Our events are inclusive. ALL people who support our purpose are welcome. ***Registration through Eventbrite [https://www.eventbrite.com/e/pdx-women-in-tech-pdxwit-seasoned-women-in-tech-tickets-42885948025] is required to avoid having to manually check-in at the event *** If you are a woman working in tech and you have 15 or more years of experience, we are your people! create Calagator::Event 1250473234 PDX Women in Tech (PDXWIT) Seasoned Women in Tech Roll back

description nil ***Registration through Eventbrite [https://www.eventbrite.com/e/pdx-women-in-tech-pdxwit-seasoned-women-in-tech-tickets-42885948025] is required to avoid having to manually check-in at the event *** If you are a woman working in tech and you have 15 or more years of experience, we are your people! ALL people who support our purpose are welcome.

create Calagator::Event 1250473233 Datalog, Data Transformation, and Apache Beam w/ Austin Haas Roll back

description nil Datalog is a powerful recursive query language that can be implemented in a few hundred lines of Clojure. It's a great introduction to logic programming and it can be used to solve real problems. It is also the basis for Datomic's query language. Apache Beam is a data processing library that runs on Google Dataflow, a serverless distributed computing service. In this presentation, I will explain Datalog, how it is used in Datomic, and how my team is using Datalog (in Clojure) to build flexible programs that transform large amounts of interdependent data in minutes with Apache Beam. Bio: Austin is a senior engineer at Healthsparq, where he uses Clojure to transform healthcare data. He has been programming in Clojure for about 7 years. His interests include Logic Programming, Automated Planning, and Game Development.
