description nil SXSW Interactive is very excited to announce our first confirmed pre-event parties happening on the West Coast in January. We have a plan to throw a bash in as many cities as we can before the event happens in March. What does this mean to you? If you are a current SXSW badgeholder (or are just interested in SXSW Interactive) and you live on one of the cities we're visiting January and February of 2011, you should join us to meet others in your community and learn more about the event from SXSW Interactive staffers. For now, we know we are definitely coming to Portland, OR on Tuesday January 11, 2011. Join us at the Doug Fir Lounge at 830 East Burnside Street by RSVPing today. Be there early for the Town Hall featuring SXSW staffers answering your questions about the event from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm or for the festivities from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm (events will take place in the Lounge area).

create Calagator::Event 1250459584 Galois Tech Talk: Control-flow Graph Guided Exploration in DDT Roll back

description nil Presented by Rebekah Leslie. The existing implementation of DDT uses a depth-first search algorithm to drive the exploration of new paths for testing. This algorithm provides full coverage of the program under test, but is limited by the fact that the number of paths increases exponentially with the size of the program. By employing the control-flow graph information of the program under test, we can direct the testing process towards program paths that contain unvisited points and therefore obtain full branch coverage in a smaller number of tests than would be required by the original depth-first search algorithm. We will present two uses of control-flow graph information in DDT. The first use is a refinement of depth-first search where control-flow graph information is used to prune the search space to eliminate unnecessary tests. The second use is in the context of a prioritized work-queue that forms the basis for a variety of sophisticated search algorithms that exploit different heuristics.

description nil Season 4, episode 2 Get up early and work on your side projects with some like-minded geeks! TechCoffee is part running club, part knitting bee, and part hackathon. It's hard to work on all of your amazing ideas after a long workday, so instead we get up early. And we get together, so we have the reinforcement of other people up early, too. A couple hours a week can make a big difference. So bring your laptops and your work ethic to PDX TechCoffee. Or, if you can't be there in person, join us on IRC at #techcoffee on freenode. One commit a week is all we ask.
