If you are arriving early to OSCON, and you have a Linux problem that needs fixing, or you are a wizard who can help others, escape from the pesky sunshine and join us at the monthly Linux Clinic at Free Geek at 1731 S.E. 10th in Portland, about 20 blocks south of the convention center. The main facility is closed, but we have access to the classroom in the southeast corner.

We will have wireless, ethernet, distros, coffee, cookies, and Penguinos, the premier penguin-themed mexican cupcake. We run until 5 PM, though in honor of OSCON we may move proceedings to the Lucky Labrador Brew Pub or Jax Bar, local open source hangouts that serve food and beer.

MIDI & Music Tech Clinic is a drop-in event for troubleshooting MIDI/music tech difficulties. Come to learn, to teach, or to share hardware, software, and even recording knowledge.

Format:

• Bring the full make and model of each piece of gear and the manual if you have it ("I have a Roland SH-01 Synthesizer").

• Know your use case or questions ("I want to use an expression pedal to modulate the vibrato on my synth patch"). • "Experts" will be on-hand. • Laptops or other small pieces of gear welcome. A small set of speakers will be available. Sounds should be no louder than the volume of speaking for the library's sake.

Then we practice pitches! Pitch Club offers an open, supportive environment for entrepreneurs to practice their pitches and get actionable and constructive feedback. Bring your presentation and plug into the A/V system, or pitch without a slide deck. Or, come check out new companies and ideas, and provide feedback to the presenters!

All kinds of pitches are welcome: elevator-, concept-, sales-, co-founder-, or investor pitches.

The Clinic has been on hiatus since the last one on March 2020, for obvious reasons and then for lack of a venue. However, this month that has changed, through a generous offer from Willamette University to use their space in the Ecotrust Building in NW Portland. In addition to help with your everyday Linux computer, this month we will also have someone from the PostmarketOS community on hand to help install Linux on your Android or other supported or perhaps semi-supported devices.
