Portland Indie Game Convention (PIGCON) through Norse Hall Portland Indie Game Convention (PIGCON) is a brand new convention celebrating independent game developers from Portland and beyond! A weekend for indie developers to learn, share, and connect, PIGCON will consist of two days of showcases, workshops, talks, an artist alley, as well as events featuring familiar and under-the-radar indie game development talent. Saturday hours are 10AM-10PM and will feature an all-day talk track as well as a curated showfloor featuring ~40 indie games and an artist alley. Sunday hours are 10AM-7PM, featuring a second all-day talk track, an all-day workshop track, and a free and open-to-the-public BYO Game showcase where anyone can come to play games, and even bring their own games to set up and showcase! No sign up is required for the BYO game showcase, just show up and grab some table space and power. Additional special events will be hosted on site both Saturday and Sunday night. |

Global Game Jam 2013 Postmortem / Play Party – The Art Institute of Portland - Open Space Join the Portland game development community in an awesome games showcase from the Global Game Jam and other local projects! Over the course of a 48 hour weekend this recent January, game developers and enthusiasts from 300+ cities around the world worked to create their very own games, many of which we will have available for play! Developers from the Portland jam will also be on site, telling us their own team- and personally-oriented experiences and challenges they faced over the weekend. This event is also open for free to any additional exhibitors who want to showcase a game-related project for the evening. OEN’s Angel Oregon Spring 2015 Showcase – The Sentinel (formerly The Governor Hotel) OEN’s Angel Oregon Showcase is your opportunity to nurture breakthrough ideas, discover new markets, and make invaluable business connections. Join over 300 investors, entrepreneurs, and business leaders to get a sneak peek at Oregon’s most exciting up-and-coming companies! This fun, fast-paced event will feature pitches from 12 entrepreneurs, who are doing everything from unobtrusively monitoring the elderly, to redefining the cast iron frying pan, to pairing up college study buddies. You'll also hear from internationally acclaimed startup guru Ekaterina Walter, who will be delivering the keynote address. At the end of the day, we'll be announcing the winner of OEN's Angel Oregon Spring 2015 Investment Program. You'll get to see which of the three presenting finalists will walk away with the Big Check. Of course, securing investment is not the only way for an early-stage startup to fundraise—to that end, you'll also hear from Ryan Grepper of the 'Coolest' cooler and other local entrepreneurs who have launched and run massively successful crowdfunding campaigns. |
