The days of looking at your data in the rear-view mirror are coming to an end. We are at the dawn of a new analytic revolution: the real-time database.
Millisecond latency is the new analytic performance standard. A new class of GPU-accelerated databases enable this level of performance. GPU-accelerated databases are over 100x more performant than even the “fastest” in-memory data stores.
GPU-accelerated databases can provide extreme levels of scalability without negative performance impacts. Amit is President and Co-Founder of Kinetica. Amit is responsible for the vision and strategic decisions for the company. Having a background in computer engineering, he has over a decade of software development experience in the commercial and federal space, with an emphasis in analyzing and visualizing big data, and helped architect Kinetica. Amit served as the chief GEOINT technical architect as a contractor for a major Top Secret cloud initiative between the US Army, NSA, and the DIA. Prior to Kinetica, Amit was a subject matter expert on geospatial intelligence with General Dynamics AIS and had been chief architect for several Department of Defense and Department of Homeland Security contracts. Amit received a B.S. in Computer Engineering from the University of Maryland with concentrations in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, and Mathematics.

PDXWIT is a community-based non-profit organization. Our goal is to bring together and empower women in tech and to encourage others to pursue tech careers. This is our step towards reducing the gender imbalance in the industry and addressing the current negative effects of that imbalance on women.

This agile lunch discussion is a collaborate effort between Seattle and Portland agile minds, and we're hoping it won't stop there. The event is held on a zoom conference line. It is modeled after the AgilePDX Downtown Pub Lunch, which is an open round table with discussion topics sourced from the participants. Towards the end of each lunch discussion we will ask for topic suggestions and vote which one to pick for our next meeting. Heidi has been a VC for nearly 20 years and today is a partner at DFJ. A: Yes! The event is close to multiple public transit options, and is near the Oak Street / SW 1st Ave station on the Red and Blue MAX lines.

Purpose:
PDXWIT is a community-based non-profit organization. Our purpose is to strengthen the Portland women in tech community by offering educational programs, partnerships, mentorships, resources and opportunities. We are unifying a supportive environment for current and potential women in tech, all of whom are committed to helping each other. Our goal is to bring together and empower women in tech and to encourage others to pursue tech careers. This is our step towards reducing the gender imbalance in the industry and addressing the current negative effects of that imbalance on women.
