create Calagator::Event 1250459584 Galois Tech Talk: Control-flow Graph Guided Exploration in DDT Roll back

description nil Presented by Rebekah Leslie. The existing implementation of DDT uses a depth-first search algorithm to drive the exploration of new paths for testing. This algorithm provides full coverage of the program under test, but is limited by the fact that the number of paths increases exponentially with the size of the program. By employing the control-flow graph information of the program under test, we can direct the testing process towards program paths that contain unvisited points and therefore obtain full branch coverage in a smaller number of tests than would be required by the original depth-first search algorithm. We will present two uses of control-flow graph information in DDT. The first use is a refinement of depth-first search where control-flow graph information is used to prune the search space to eliminate unnecessary tests. The second use is in the context of a prioritized work-queue that forms the basis for a variety of sophisticated search algorithms that exploit different heuristics.

update Calagator::Event 1250459571 IndieWebCamp Roll back

description Rather than posting content on many third-party silos of data, we should all begin owning our own data that we're creating. Publish short status updates on your own domain, and syndicate to Twitter. Publish photos on your own domain, syndicate to Flickr, etc, etc. This is the basis of the "Indie Web" movement. We'll get together for a day and a half to talk about what has been done in the field, and where still needs to be done. There will be workshops and breakout sessions the second day. For some reading on the subject, browse Tantek's documentation of his projects like Whistle and Falcon, two projects he created as an effort to begin owning his own published content. update Calagator::Event 1250459569 Digital Journalism PDX: Journalism and the Future of Mobile with Jason Grigsby Roll back

description There's an aphorism that's making the rounds these days in journalism circles that goes something like this: News organizations are treating mobile like they did print and the Web 10 years ago. In other words, they're acting like mobile - with all its different facets - is just the Web on a smaller screen. That may be an oversimplification, but it zeros in on a major problem: What the heck are we doing when it comes to smartphones, apps, different mobile operating systems, feature phones, tablets, and on and on? At the next Digital Journalism Social Hour, Portland's Jason Grigsby is going to help us try and get a handle on that question.
