description nil Hey, it's 12/12/12, and time for another evening of games with [Comic Rocket](https://www.comic-rocket.com/)! We've been doing this monthly since September and it's been awesome, so it's time to do it again! We're bringing our game libraries, including Risk, Blokus, Magic: The Gathering, Ricochet Robots, Order of the Stick, and many more games. Please bring anything you want to play too! We'll provide snacks and drinks. Last month people self-organized a group pizza order as well, and if you'd like to participate this month, you have the power. :-)

update Calagator::Event 1250463021 APIs and the future of open data interchange (colloquium) Roll back

description This will be a colloquium and discussion session on web service APIs, data interchange in the 21st century, mobile development, API best practices, API system architecture, and a variety of other topics. Speakers will include Urban Airship API architect Adam Lowry, Kyle Drake of Geoloqi/Esri, and others to be announced. Please RSVP as soon as possible to [email protected]. Attendance will be limited and via RSVP only! Unfortunately, I have had to cancel this event. December turns out to be a very difficult month to book speakers and I wasn't able to put together a sufficiently compelling slate of speakers. I'm going to try really hard to re-schedule the event for early 2013, and will keep everyone posted.

update Calagator::Event 1250463156 December PADNUG Party and Windows Phone - Monetization with In-App Purchases Roll back

description As we normally do in December, we will be having a little bit of EXTRA fun for the meeting! First, we will be having a much broader food choice than our normal pizza! We'll have a selection of pastas and salads to make your mouth water. Don't worry, though - we'll have a few token pizzas for the die-hards among us :). Second, Kelly White will be presenting "WinPhone 8 In-App Purchases". This is _the_ critical monetization mechanism for developers today on mobile devices. Windows Phone 8 adds comprehensive support that opens a new world of opportunity to developers. He'll discuss this feature in depth during this session, including demos for implementation and testing! Third - and I'm really excited about this - our swag pile this month includes a *BRAND NEW MICROSOFT SURFACE!!!* Seriously! Finally, we’ll wrap up our evening with After Words at the new *BJs Restaurant and Brewhouse* at the corner of Cornell and Cornelius Pass Road. Do NOT miss out on this meeting! create Calagator::Event 1250463156 December PADNUG Party and Windows Phone - Monetization with In-App Purchases Roll back

description nil As we normally do in December, we will be having a little bit of EXTRA fun for the meeting! He'll discuss this feature in depth during this session, including demos for implementation and testing! description Hello everyone, it's that time again. Yep, it's the last PAGDIG of the year. Pizza and beverages will be provided, feel free to bring stuff to eat/drink to share or bring a couple of bucks to offset pizza costs. But all of that is strictly optional. The roundtable discussion this month: Managing Time While Staying Productive and Inspired: How Creative Game Developers Get Work Done Anyone who does game development (art, design, programming, music), whether they be a full-time indie/employee or a part-time dev or student/hobbyist knows there's several fine balances we have to maintain. We split time between finding inspiration and buckling down and getting things done. We split time between the work that we care about and well, Real Life. When does looking for inspiration become detrimental distraction? When does working for hours on end become hazardous and counterproductive? Let's all talk about how we deal with this in our daily work: how we stay focused, how we stay excited, how we budget our time and attention. I think it would be pretty educational to share and compare notes on how we all as developers of all types actually split our time up and what kind of schedules we maintain. See you all soon! create Calagator::Event 1250463146 Galois tech talk: Computers and privacy, ACLU of Oregon discusses their 2013 agenda Roll back

description nil Presented by Becky Straus. Abstract: Efforts at the federal level to pass laws like the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act (CISPA) have attracted widespread attention and criticism, and rightly so. But Washington, D.C. is far from the only place that officials are making decisions that impact the privacy and free speech rights. State and local officials are jumping into the fray as well, passing laws or creating policies that have immediate impact without the spotlight that accompanies federal action. The fact is that privacy laws have failed to keep up with emerging technologies. This presentation will survey several areas where state and local officials in Oregon have recently been active, including reviewing policies on automated license plate recognition, surveillance cameras, and use of domestic drones. We will discuss how the ACLU of Oregon has been involved and what is on our agenda for the upcoming 2013 state legislative session.
