description nil Confused about the economic recovery and what it means for you and your organization? So are we! For the past few years, the HR Committee has presented an annual event focused on “networking”. This year’s event continues the trend … with a twist: TechAmerica provides the moderator; YOU will be the panelists! Dr. Jeff Johnson, PHD, SPHR Jeff Johnson, PhD., is a currently a Senior Talent Management Consultant with Right Management. He has been consulting with organizations for over 10 years, working with managers and executives in various industries and at different levels. Jeff helps organizations build key leadership competencies, enhance strategic talent management acumen, and make optimal talent movement decisions. Jeff successfully built a private practice focused on leadership assessment, organizational development, and strategic talent management and holds an MS in Organizational Development and PhD in Industrial & Organizational Psychology from PSU. Dr. Johnson will start the session with some thought provoking questions and ideas: - Preparing for the recovery - It’s coming –are you prepared? - Strategic talent acquisition as an increasingly competitive advantage - How to get employees motivated to become fully engaged in their jobs - Capitalizing employee production while promoting innovation - Loyalty – how to maximize employee commitment to your organization - Compensation: How to leverage intrinsic motivation when cash is not available - Building leadership throughout an organization – why it is more important than ever? Before the event you will be asked to provide your ranked interest in the Recover, Retool, Retain subjects. We will seat the event based upon interests. Don’t worry – you won’t miss a thing! After half an hour of table discussion with your peers, each table will report out on the highlights of their discussion. Cost: $35 Tech America members, $35 SAO and OEN Industry members, $55 nonmember technology companies, and $95 other nonmembers Thank you ACME Business Consulting for sponsoring this event!

create Calagator::Event 1250458373 Springboard Social Innovation Forum Roll back

description nil At the March Springboard Social Innovation we’ll be addressing innovative physical spaces. By creating an active idea laboratory, shared workspace, specifically designed educational programs, appropriate tools, and needed expertise, we can cultivate innovative technology- and service-based solutions to shared problems using newly collaborative, enriched strategies that can be replicated in diverse settings globally. Together MotiveSpace Coalition and Springboard Innovation are creating HATCH, a physical space that will serve as an active laboratory and incubator for community innovation and will foster an entirely new operating system between individuals, organizations, community, tools, and place. The space will offer classrooms, tools, programs, and experts who will work together to solve local and global problems. Tenants of all sectors will work in close proximity in a shared work space that fosters collaboration, community, and participation to generate social and ecological solutions. Join us for a “working Forum,” where we’ll discuss HATCH and the potential role a physical space can play in solving social and environmental problems. **SPACE IS LIMITED, PLEASE RSVP** Please contact Mary Grace at (503) 452-6898 or [email protected] for more information about this event and to RSVP. The Springboard Social Innovation Forum offers a monthly event designed to support those interested in creating a better future. Our focus is to help practitioners or potential practitioners of social projects push beyond discussion and debate into action. Each Forum will inspire and teach with ideas, powerful role models, and stories. Speakers, content experts, panels, and workshops will help you improve your strategies for planning and launching effective social ventures. The Forum will create a context to connect, learn, and take action around ideas that lead to tangible change—all in a venue designed for building community. The Forum is intended to attract people with a wide range of experience and backgrounds, but with a common interest—making a difference. If you are getting tired of waiting for someone else to step up to take on issues you care about, come see how this can be a place to make a difference, here or around the world. We invite people from both the business and non-profit community—investors and activists—to join in, work together, and make this a model for other cities to adopt. Learn more about the Forum at www.springboardinnovation.org/forum.php About Springboard Innovation: Springboard Innovation (www.springboardinnovation.org) is a not-for-profit headquartered in Portland, Oregon. Through a process of “innovation incubation” we help community members launch social change organizations and programs. We invite you to be involved in our newest initiative for change.

update Calagator::Event 1250458232 The iPad: An Early Look at Apple's Latest Innovation Roll back

description Less than a month has passed since Apple unveiled the iPad and few technology products have spurred more divergent opinions and conversations that this unassuming tablet computer. Some see the iPad as a tremendous new opportunity for businesses. Others believe the device is doomed to fail. Is it the future of computer human interaction? Or will people find the system too limiting? To help explore the challenges, opportunities, and pitfalls associated with the iPad, we've put together a panel of experts who will tackle questions like: * If you currently have an iPhone app, what do you need to consider when making a decision about whether to make an iPad version? * How will the types of applications on the iPad be different than what we've seen on mobile phones? Will pricing change? Is there more or less opportunity for advertising? * How does the different form factor change the way applications are designed? * What does the iPad mean for publishers? Books? Magazines? Newspapers? Does this hint at a way out for the problems media has faced over the last few years? * How do web sites need to change to support the iPad (or do they)? * What does the iPad mean for the future of personal computing? Come join us to learn from the panel and share your own thoughts on this next generation device. About the Panelists Final panelists are being confirmed. Bios will be posted soon. create Calagator::Event 1250458328 Social Media Training: Red Chair Studio Roll back

description nil RED CHAIR 'Studio' is designed to teach mid-level managers and Account-level Social Media professionals how to properly manage, measure and grow Social Media programs under their care. This fast-paced half day session will provide the framework, insight and step-by-step methodology needed to most effectively manage a Social Media program and deliver results for customers and the organizations, so come prepared to take copious notes. Because RED CHAIR 'Studio' is a half-day session, participants will have time to return to the office after lunch and immediately begin to apply what they have learned. Developing a program that specifically caters to "roll up your sleeves and get it done" managers wasn't enough; we also wanted to make it financially accessible to departments with limited budgets. What follows is a brief breakdown of what the program will cover: Strategic Planning: How to properly develop, plan and set measurable goals for your social media program or campaign, both in the short term and long term - in a way that accomplishes your department's objectives and satisfies upper management. Management: How to manage the Social Media program from inception to every phase of its evolution. We will go over process integration, monitoring, engagement, community management, customer support, online reputation management internal communications, project management and legal considerations. Measurement and Growth: The final portion of the session will focus on how to properly measure success. This discussion will focus on lining up measurement with your program's specific objectives, choosing the correct tools and metrics for the job, properly reporting successes and failures, and how to use data to ensure the growth of your program. Who should attend: Department managers wishing to learn how to effectively build, grow and manage Social Media programs for their business units. Social Media managers and directors wishing to learn how to more effectively manage and grow sustainable Social Media programs for their clients and/or their own firms. Account-level agency and digital program managers looking to significantly improve their working knowledge of effective Social Media program management. Community managers, IT managers, HR managers, small business owners (less than 10 employees), marketing project managers, product managers, customer service managers, and anyone not at the Executive level wishing to further their practical understanding of Social Media program management.
