description nil → Portland’s own Bailey’s Taproom has 20 beers from which pour an ever-rotating array of fine brews representing a wide range of styles emphasizing Oregon breweries. Our main attraction for this event is their "Beer Dashboard”, a large flat-screen monitor that displays detailed information for each beer on tap, the amount left in each keg, and who’s checked in through Foursquare as well as tweeting the arrival of a new beer on the menu. Most software developers love beer, but rarely do both interests so easily combine into a single SAO event. Join us with developer Eric Sterling, the creator of the beer dashboard, as he delves into nuances of this project and his adventures turning restaurant software into business. Afterwards, we invite you to walk over to Bailey’s to see new cool beer technology in action and enjoy a pint yourself! description nil → <p>I would love to present and share my ideas around how to go beyond the Page Object Pattern to increase maintainability, stability and performance of Selenium automation. Specific topics could include the importance of an abstraction layer between your page objects and selenium itself, some things you can do in that abstraction layer to handle or work around some (in my opinion) not very friendly Selenium behaviors, more specific rules/processes for helper functions in your page objects, when to make exceptions to the Page Object Pattern, etc. I'll have to probably slim it down to a few topics to fit in the time frame. Lastly, I'll share a story about one of the things I am least well known for, which is being the original creator of the Page Object Pattern while working on a UI automation framework internal to Microsoft. Imagine my surprise when I left Microsoft and started getting involved with Selenium and saw a derivative of my Page Object Pattern being used all over the place! :-)</p>

The eclipse becomes visible at sunrise over coastal China on Monday May 21, passes over Japan, the international dateline at local noon, south of Alaska on May 20 and then to Oregon near sunset. It would be way cool if someone would use something like Google Hangout to aggregate webcam feeds from around the Pacific Rim. This may be the only chance in your lifetime to observe an annular eclipse without traveling halfway around the world, or into space. Eclipses are spooky and cool. The eclipse becomes visible at sunrise over coastal China on Monday May 21, passes over Japan, the international dateline at local noon, south of Alaska on May 20 and then to Oregon near sunset. It would be way cool if someone would use something like Google Hangout to aggregate webcam feeds from around the Pacific Rim. This may be the only chance in your lifetime to observe an annular eclipse without traveling halfway around the world, or into space. Eclipses are spooky and cool. Don't miss this one!
