Please join us on Thursday for our third installment of SPARK!

This month, Astro Rockandrolla of House of Sound radio presents, "Two Turntables and a Microphone (and the Internet, a herd of DJ's and some cops)"

SPARK is a monthly effort to create a community within several different groups and cultures within Portland. Part Ignite, part Pint (if you remember back that far), part MindShare (if you want to meet new people), SPARK! is a monthly meet up for technologists, designers, developers, product managers, agency wonks, project managers, producers, database geeks, and other nerds of all flavors.

Astro Rockandrolla, co-founder of House of Sound Radio (www.houseofsound.org), rants about the technical, legal, logistic and social issues that come with running an online, live streaming radio station for three years and running. Some real tech, some sociology, some finance - a loosely organized talk about the real deal of what's involved.

The Jack London will open at 4 for Happy Hour specials, and our featured presenter will be on at 6:30.

*To enter The Jack London Bar - use the front entrance of Rialto, walk to the back of the bar, where you will see a large neon blue Jack London Bar sign, as well as a stairs to the underground bar.

You are cordially invited to the newest technology and design community group in Portland. Each month we’ll host a speaker, demonstration, experiment, lecture, or learning exercise for a short time at the beginning of the evening. Then we’ll turn the music up, the lights down, and rock the night away at the Jack London Bar. Let's mix. Let's mingle. Let's share ideas.

The inaugural event is this Thursday, Jan 5 @Jack London Bar. Basement of the Rialto. 529 Southwest 4th Avenue. Starts at 5:30. Ends whenever you get tired.

The bar will be open at 4 for happy hour specials.
