Pan IIT - TiE Oregon Event: Talk by Technology Consultant and Mountaineer Malli Mastan Babu

Malli Mastan Babu is an international mountaineer. He holds the 2009 Guiness Book World record for scaling the tallest peaks in all seven continents (The Seven Summits) in the shortest time of 172 days. He has a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, India and an MBA from Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata, India. He worked as a software developer for three years, but ultimately chose an unconventional career path following his passion for adventure and mountain climbing.

Today he does motivational speeches, provides leadership consultations to corporations and leads expedition climbs around the world. He is considered one of the experts on the Himalayan mountain ranges. He will share his personal stories, his adventures and the learnings that can be translated from climbs to corporations.

PanIIT Pacific NW Chapter is a group of the members of Indian Institute of Technology Alumni Association in Oregon. The Indian Institutes of Technology (I.I.Ts) were established by the Indian Government soon after independence. Many technology leaders, entrepreneurs and innovators of the world are graduates of these schools.
