Backups - What we all need to know

A panel will present a wide ranging discussion of Backup Technologies. We will include the following topics:

Local backups: We will cover a wide range of both software and hardware, including USB Drives and NAS drives from various manufacturers. There will also be a discussion of various imaging software options.
Online Backups: A large number of Online backup options will be discussed including possible revenue streams for re-sellers.
Mobile Backups: This will be briefly discussed.
Sync Versus Backup: We will discuss various Synchronization options and when they are best used.
Best Practices: We will discuss basic recommendations as well as maintaining security for both online backups and local backups.

A Consultant's Guide to QuickBooks

Computer consultants encounter QuickBooks in two ways: Many of us use it ourselves to manage our business, and we frequently deal with it on our clients' computers. K.C. will give us advice on how to make better use of QuickBooks, and also provide practical advice for supporting QuickBooks installations. Topics likely to be discussed: What features of QuickBooks would a computer consultant or contractor be most interested in? (Tracking time? Billing for time? Inventory? Invoicing etc.) Common QuickBooks problems and solutions Issues that may arise in multi-user installations and more!

Presented by Ben H. Lee III is an Intel Field Applications Engineer located in Hillsboro, Oregon.

He covers the Northwest Region of the US along with Western Canada and is responsible for $100M in annual designs.

Ben has an Electrical Engineering degree from Oregon State University and holds one patent in adaptive synchronization of data across networks.

He started working at Intel in 1996 and held various positions in engineering for desktop and networking products. He went on to marketing in 2000, did four years in sales beginning in 2004, and moved back to an engineering in 2008.

Today, Ben designs solutions using Intel desktop, mobile, LAN, SSD, RAID and server products. He supports customers who build systems used in a variety of applications such as digital surveillance, IPTV, supercomputing, and aerospace.
