Join PDXWIT for an afternoon at Shiftwise dedicated to helping you find your next job. You get what you put in, so come prepared to share. Let us know what you need most right now (mock interviews, resume review, portfolio reviews, Q&A with recruiters… ) and we’ll try to accomodate your needs.</p> <p>We’ll have a short presentation from Chris Hayes, Career Coach, who will share a few simple steps to improve your LinkedIn profile. Chris will also be available for 1:1 coaching during the event.</p> <p>We’re also looking for volunteers to participate in the reviews. If you’re interested, please complete this form. If you’d like to volunteer, please do not register for the event as we will handle it separately.</p> <p>Agenda:</p> <p>4:30 p.m. - Doors open, reviews begin</p> <p>5:15 p.m - Introductions (PDX WIT, host, etc.)</p> <p>5:20 p.m. - Short presentation with Q&A: “Simple steps to impress using LinkedIn”</p> <p>6:30 p.m. - Event ends</p> <p>Event FAQ:</p> <p>Q: Will there be gender neutral restrooms? A: Yes</p> <p>Q: Is the space ADA accessible? A: Yes</p> <p>Q: Will there be food and drink at this event? A: Yes</p> <p>Q: What is the parking situation? A: Yes, there is parking in the 200 Market building, enter off of Market Street. It is NOT free. There is also a garage at 2nd & Clay. (Shiftwise is near the Keller Auditorium.)</p> <p>Q: Is there any special information that might help me find the entrance? A: Entry from the street level is gained off Market Street, through the garage and up the escalator to the 7th floor. Participants can also take the escalator from Market Street to the lobby/elevator. There are revolving doors from the courtyard on the South side though they may be locked after hours.</p> <p>Q: Is there secured bike parking? A: There is bike parking available in the garage of 200 Market that, while not secure, is off the street and near a staffed parking booth.</p> <p>Q: Should I consider using public transportation? A: Public transport is a great option. Many Shiftwise employees use it.</p> <p>Q: Can I bring my dog? A: No, except service animals, otherwise we ask that you leave your furry friend home.</p> <p>Purpose:</p> <p>PDXWIT is a community-based non-profit organization. Our purpose is to strengthen the Portland women in tech community by offering educational programs, partnerships, mentorships, resources and opportunities. We are unifying a supportive environment for current and potential women in tech, all of whom are committed to helping each other. Our goal is to bring together and empower women in tech and to encourage others to pursue tech careers. This is our step towards reducing the gender imbalance in the industry and addressing the current negative effects of that imbalance on women.</p> <p>Our events are inclusive.
