Amanda Lopez, of Ruby Receptionists, will lead the group in creating an inclusive space to share challenges, opportunities and experiences specific to people who identify as a woman of color.</p> <p>Agenda:</p> <p>5:00 p.m. - Check-in (mingle)</p> <p>5:30 p.m. - Speed Meet and Greet</p> <p>6:00 p.m. - Speaker - Joy Fowler - VP, Diversity and Inclusion Program Manager, Umpqua Bank</p> <p>7:00 p.m. - Event ends</p> <p>Event FAQ</p> <p>Q: What is the parking situation?</p> <p>A: There are a number of pay-to-park lots within a few blocks of our location.</p> <p>Q: Is there secured bike parking?</p> <p>A: Secured bike parking is not available, however we do have public access bike parking by the parking garage entrance beneath our building.</p> <p>Q: Should I consider using public transportation?</p> <p>A: Yes! The Red and Blue MAX lines stop in front of our building.</p> <p>Purpose:</p> <p>PDXWIT is a community-based non-profit organization. Our purpose is to strengthen the Portland women in tech community by offering educational programs, partnerships, mentorships, resources and opportunities. We are unifying a supportive environment for current and potential women in tech, all of whom are committed to helping each other. Our goal is to bring together and empower women in tech and to encourage others to pursue tech careers. This is our step towards reducing the gender imbalance in the industry and addressing the current negative effects of that imbalance on women.</p> <p>Our events are inclusive.
