We welcome perspectives from all disciplines, including human-computer interaction, design, market research, and the social sciences, and others. Meetings will be held every other month in downtown Portland, and will include speakers, panel discussions, workshops, and other events, with opportunities to network and discuss relevant topics with fellow research professionals.</p> <p>Help us kick off the new PDX Design Research Group with our first event on November 19th, featuring a presentation and discussion by Janna Kimel, Customer Experience Manager at Regence BlueCross BlueShield. If you have the challenge of integrating design research into the business, or if you consult with companies learning to integrate the voice of the customer, this talk will be especially relevant. Over the past 18 months, Janna has built up her role from doing web-based user research to partnering across business silos in order to support customer-centered projects and products. Come hear how Janna and her team helped move the organization from thinking “inside out” to thinking “outside in.”</p> <p>Informal networking will be from 6:30 – 7:00, with Janna’s talk to begin promptly at 7:00. Please note: If you arrive after 7:00 pm, you won’t be able to get into the building, so please plan to arrive at least a few minutes before then.</p> </div> </div>
