Reducers are based on monoids and protocols, and automatically parallelize folding and mapping on sequences/collections.</li> <li>Leif Warner on <a href="http://idris-lang.org/">Idris</a>, a general purpose pure functional programming language with dependent types. "Idris is a language perhaps between Haskell and Scala, but with dependent types. For the most part it looks much like Haskell, only types and values share the same namespace. The group meets regularly and provides presentations, demos and discussions applicable to all skill levels, from newbies and experts.
