Description

Advanced Invention to Venture (AI2V) is a proven new venture accelerator that has been taught around the country. It was developed under a Kaufmann Foundation grant and is offered through the National Collegiate Inventors and Innovators Alliance (NCIIA). Participants range from student new venture teams through existing ventures run by experienced entrepreneurs. The Portland program includes the following opportunities to build and test a new venture plan.

* Workshop: A four-day intensive workshop to help technology entrepreneurs understand the critical requirements of their new ventures and provide the guidance to build analysis-rich plans and investor pitches. Workshop includes hands-on development of technology roadmaps, market entry strategies, financial requirements mapping, and other key components that are critical to the success of new ventures.
* Investor Panel Dry Run: A volunteer panel of investors will provide feedback on pitches during the final hours of the workshop.
* Follow-up Coaching: Participants then spend eight weeks to close the gaps in their plan that they identified during the workshop. Business coaches assist during weekly meetings and help fine-tune the investor pitch.
* Investor Presentation: At the end of the eight-weeks, participants that are ready to seek outside investment present to an investor panel tailored to the company's venture.
