Are you Driving or Following your Brand? | Marketing Networking Event
Roll back
| description |

##Is your creative vision driving your brand? Or are you leveraging external data to steer it?
With the surplus of marketing metrics available, this is a decision most marketers face every day. We invite you to join the discussion as four brand leaders discuss their chosen approach.
Don’t miss TAO’s next Marketing Community Event on Thursday, May 13th! We’ve brought together panel of marketing mavens representing the agency world and in-house marketing teams who will share their brand advice and debate creating and driving your brand vs. steering it by the data.
Our panelists will address burning questions such as:
*What should you do when your brand is being challenged for the sake of customer reach?
*How much of your brand (and its initial vision) are you willing to compromise?
*When does data make your brand myopic?
##Panelists
-Julie Zisman, Head of Marketing at Little Bird
-Kent Lewis, Founder & President of Anvil Media
-Matthew Baranauskas, Creative Director of Ziba Design
-Burt Rosen, Chief Marketing Officer of Healthsparq
***This event is for all Marketing professionals interested in learning new techniques and methodologies of brand and product development.***

Whether you're a teacher, software developer, or sales soldier ignorance about privacy and security just won't fly anymore. Trusting software engineers to know everything about security can put your students and business at risk. With the NSA leaks inundating the media, everyone is asking: How safe is my data?
Join us at eBay's Community Lounge for an informed discussion on privacy and security with speaker Bill Fitzgerald who focuses on educational technology security. You can follow him on Twitter.
Space is still open for quick pitches for this event. Also looking ahead, we need a main speaker for June. Spread the word.

Scaled Agile - Too Big to Fail?
Join us for a format introduced last month at the Intel Agile & Lean Conference: Lean Coffee++
Participants will actively brainstorm and prioritize the agenda and become part of the conversation. Up-votes will continue the discussion, while down-votes mean move on to the next sub-topic.
To guide the conversation we'll seed the topic, and also seed the audience with expert contributors. This is the ++ portion of our take on the LeanCoffee(tm) format.
Seed Topic: Scaled Agile - Too Big to Fail?
Seed questions: Why do large organizations embrace SAFe? Is it possible to 'get off' the release train? How to scale the human factor.

PLEASE NOTE NEW LOCATION (Intel Hawthorne Farms Bldg 3 Auditorium).
From Cornell take Elam Young Parkway using the WEST intersection, not the EAST (Elam Young intersects with Cornell on both sides of the Intel campus).
Turn in to the first driveway into the Intel parking lot off of Elam Young Parkway. Straight ahead is the entrance for HF3 and the auditorium. Guest parking will be near the entrance. |

Calm Technology at Hand Eye Supply's Curiosity Club
Roll back
| description |
Come to Hand Eye Supply's FORTNIGHTLY FORUM FOR THE FEARLESSLY CURIOUS!
This upcoming talk will feature Amber Case presenting on Calm Technology.
Description: We cannot interact with our everyday life in the same way we interact with a desktop computer. Technology shouldn’t require all of our attention, just some of it, and only when necessary. How can our devices take advantage of location, proximity and haptics to help improve our lives instead of get in the way? This presentation covers the history of calm technology, wearable computing, and how designers can make apps “ambient” while respecting privacy and security. We’ll look at ambient notifications, compressing information into other senses, and designing for the least amount of cognitive overhead.
---
Hand-Eye Supply is a work-focused supply store for creative minds located in Portland, OR. Every item we carry and every project we do needs to meet our high standards for Utility, Story, and Design. We engage with our community through our Curiosity Club speaker series and other various projects.
---
Amber Case is an entrepreneur and researcher helping Fortune 500 companies design, build, and think through their roadmap for connected devices. She is the former co-founder and CEO of Geoloqi, a location-based software company acquired by Esri in 2012. She spoke about the future of the interface for SXSW 2012’s keynote address, and her TED talk, “We are all cyborgs now”, has been viewed over a million times. Named one of National Geographic's Emerging Explorers, she’s been listed among Inc Magazine's 30 under 30 and featured among Fast Company’s Most Influential Women in Technology.
Case is the author of An Illustrated Dictionary of Cyborg Anthropology and Designing Calm Technology from O’Reilly Books (Fall 2015). She is a passionate advocate of privacy and the future of data ownership, and is interested in furthering the ideas of Calm Technology, wearable computing, and the future of the interface. Her current work as Managing Director of Existence at Healthways involves predictive analysis and wellness. Amber lives and works in Portland, Oregon; you can follow her on Twitter @caseorganic and learn more at caseorganic.com.
