description nil → Want to get hands-on experience with 3D printing methods? We will be creating and preparing 3D models for 3D printing. This workshop is good for those who want gain fluency with both 3D modeling (CAD) and 3D printing. We will teach you to create digital files and prepare them for 3D printing. Subjects may include: choosing the right material and method of 3D printing, drawings models with TinkerCAD, and adding supports if necessary to your models for 3D printing. By the conclusion of the workshop you will be able to produce a 3D-printed object from a design you created. We will be using 3D printers known as cartesian and delta bots, reprappro mendel, printrbot simple metal, an SLA printer, and the MOST delta. The printers are all connected to a wireless hub and we connect to them wirelessly via web browser. No software is necessary to control and submit jobs on the printers. Bring a laptop with your favorite slicer and 3d modeling software installed (and bring a mouse). The software we use for slicing 3D files is called Cura v. 15.02.1 (an older version works best). One software we use for adding supports (if necessary) is called MeshMixer by autodesk. One CAD software we’re gonna use is web-based TinkerCAD and requires no installation. Josh will demo CRI-O, a minimal container runtime designed for meeting Kubernetes' container needs ... and no more. Then, for our feature presentation Eric Ernst of Intel will present: "Using OVS-DPDK, VPP and SRIO-V with Clear Containers" Using OVS-DPDK, VPP and SRIO-V with Clear Containers Clear Containers is an Open Containers Initiative (OCI) “runtime” that launches an Intel VT-x secured hypervisor rather than a standard Linux container. A brief introduction of Clear Containers will be provided, followed by an overview of CNM networking plugins which have been created to enhance network connectivity using Clear Containers. More specifically, we will give an overview of DPDK, OVS, VPP and SRIO-V, followed by demonstrations of using OVS-DPDK, VPP and SRIO-v based networks to connect Clear Containers.

You can add a conditional to check if an object is null. There is however a better way. Null Object Pattern is a design pattern that helps you to simplify your application logic. The Null Object patthern removes the need to check for an object vs null by using Polymorphism. description nil → Join us for a combined meeting with Seattle TA3M! Congress has recently repealed the upcoming Internet privacy protections that the FCC passed back in 2015. Those protections required Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to get permission from their users before selling user data to third parties. Now, ISPs will be able to sell our Internet browsing histories and other data to the highest bidder. But wait… You don't have to give them all of your data! You can instead use Tor, also known as The Onion Router, to encrypt your search requests and browsing activity and route your Internet traffic through a distributed network of relays (run by volunteers around the world) in order to protect your privacy. Tor prevents anyone watching your Internet connection from seeing your location or which websites you visit. It can also help you to access blocked sites. Alison Macrina, from the Library Freedom Project will be talking to both groups, Seattle TA3M and us, via teleconference. She'll explain how Tor works, how you can set it up, and how you can help Tor to make the network more secure for all users. We'll have snacks, and there will be an opportunity for networking following the talk. We hope to see you there! description nil → ## Speaker: Wouter Swierstra ## Abstract: Complex protocols describing the communication or storage of binary data are difficult to describe precisely. In this talk, I want to explore how to define data types describing a binary data formats and generate the corresponding serialization and deserialization functions from such descriptions. By embedding these data types in a general purpose dependently typed programming language such as Agda, we can verify once and for all that the serialization/deserialization functions generated in this style are correct by construction. To validate this approach, I will sketch how to write a verified parser for IPv4 network packets. ## Bio: Wouter Swierstra is an assistant professor at the Utrecht University in the Netherlands. After originally studying Mathematics and Computer Science, he did his PhD under supervision of Thorsten Altenkirch at the University of Nottingham's Functional Programming Lab. He worked as a postdoc at Chalmers University of Technology, before moving back to the Netherlands to work at Vector Fabrics, a high-tech startup that used functional programming to facilitate the design of embedded systems. After this brief stint in industry, he returned to academia as a postdoc in Foundations Group at the Radboud University Nijmegen and Software Technology group at Utrecht University.
