create Calagator::Event 1250467927 CHANGE IS THE ONLY CONSTANT Roll back

description nil Digital marketing changes every day. eROI invites you to join us for an interactive panel discussion to explore how digital marketing will evolve in 2015. We'll bring together brilliant local minds in digital advertising— across design, strategy, development, and analytics to discuss trends, predictions, field audience questions, and dream together the future for our industry. Some topics covered may include: Visual Communication: More than ever, advertisers are fighting for attention, trying to communicate more content in less time. Smart, strategic design is more important than ever. Personalization: There is a wealth of specific, relevant information online about individual consumers, yet we've barely scratched the surface on how to effectively streamline and use personalization in marketing. Social Media + Marketing: With organic reach on Facebook all but entirely gone for advertisers, how will we put the "marketing" back in social media? What networks are poised for growth in 2015 and how can we as marketers take advantage? eROI creates compelling, digital experiences for web, email, and social with partners like Conde Nast, the Baltimore Sun, Fred Meyer Jewelers, and Aramark to drive revenue and exceed goals. Please direct questions to [email protected] and visit www.eROI.com/events to register for this 3/3/15 event starting February 3, 2015.

description nil Greetings to all! We're excited to announce our second meeting and presentation night! We already have some great talks lined up from Dave McCabe and Asa Miller. We're hoping to set aside some time for lightning talks as well. Please [join the mailing list](https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/portland-reactjs) and let us know if you are interested in presenting or participating in lightning talks. [Jama Software](http://www.jamasoftware.com/) will be hosting us at their new office in downtown Portland. Catering will also be provided, more details on that soon. ## == Proposed Schedule == # Using React with Real-time data from Firebase. (Asa Miller) Asa will discuss setting up real-time communication between desktop and mobile and how to to configure it for communication between components instead of passing props. # Notes on the Design of Components. (Dave McCabe) A discussion on what we've learned about designing React components: Techniques for promoting simplicity, reuse, statelessness, and separation of concerns, and for dealing with asynchrony.

You’ll want to have RubyMotion ([download trial](http://www.rubymotion.com/buy/)), the latest version of Xcode, and Xcode Command Line Tools (xcode-select --install) installed. Since this is our first meetup, we'll set aside some time to socialize. ClearSight will provide pizza and soda, and Epicodus is graciously providing our meetup location. ## RubyMotion Basics _Jamon Holmgren_ Basic app creation, how-tos, general tips and tricks, best practices, tests, and more! ## Social Time Hang out, meet everyone, ask each other or the speakers some questions, bounce ideas around, etc. ## Cross Platform RubyMotion _TBD_ We'll explore the current state of cross platform programming with RubyMotion and discuss some of the plans ClearSight has for improving cross platform development.

update Calagator::Event 1250467840 eBay Tech Tuesday: The Impact of Technology on the Music Industry Roll back

description For the February edition of eBay Tech Tuesdays we'll be bringing in some of the fine folks over at Marmoset, a boutique music agency here in Portland, to talk music and technology. Ryan Wines, Managing Partner and CEO; Shane Geiger, Digital Team Lead; and Ryan Rebo, Developer, will be sharing their thoughts on how technology has changed the music industry so far, what they're seeing currently, what they foresee coming down the road, and what unknowns have them scratching their heads. We've also sweet-talked them into bringing in one of their artists to close out the evening with some live music... RSVP now to attend, then check out Marmoset to learn more about who they are and what they do. Ryan Wines, Managing Partner and CEO; Shane Geiger, Digital Team Lead; and Ryan Rebo, Developer, will be talking about their website and app, sharing their thoughts on how technology has changed their business so far, what they're seeing currently, what they foresee coming down the road, and what unknowns have them scratching their heads. Marmoset also has a super secret band coming in from out of state to play. So secret we're not even allowed to know who they are... But this is what we've been told: • Instrumental electronic pop that borrows from the playbook of Justice and Daft Punk, at least in terms of mystique • One could say that they sound like an ’80s synth-rock band, but it goes deeper than that. They have a fanatic following from the people who have listened and seen them live. The way they present themselves is a sincere approach to combine art and music. And we've been guaranteed they're rad. RSVP now to attend, then check out Marmoset to learn more about who they are and what they do.
