update Calagator::Event 1250471248 Solutions Thinking for Product Managers Roll back

description Product managers and product teams face unprecedented challenges as business environments and product ecosystems become increasingly complex and unpredictable. Customers have tremendous freedom to choose among competing products, and user experience has become a big factor in many purchase decisions. Time-to-market pressure is unrelenting, while product complexity and technical challenges keep increasing. In this environment, businesses must offer solutions that solve the right problem for the right consumer at the right time and the right price. Solutions Thinking offers a fresh look at how to develop holistic solutions for customer problems. Solutions Thinking helps teams balance business, usage, and technology to create a compelling and sustainable set of products and services to meet the customer’s current and future needs. The approach is specifically designed to work in complex environments. *This is a free, one-hour introduction to Solutions Thinking, which is typically a day-long workshop. create Calagator::Event 1250471248 Solutions Thinking for Product Managers Roll back

description nil Product managers and product teams face unprecedented challenges as business environments and product ecosystems become increasingly complex and unpredictable. Solutions Thinking helps teams go from opportunities to solutions using a value-driven approach, and works with traditional, Agile, and hybrid development life cycles. Many teams just focus on making products when they should be thinking about developing solutions. description nil RSVP - https://www.eventbrite.com/e/pdx-women-in-tech-pdxwit-happy-hour-networking-event-tickets-30737630079 Join us for happy hour at Digital Trends to celebrate PDXWIT's 5 Year Anniversary! For our first event in 2017 and in honor of our anniversary, the theme of the event is reflecting on how your life has changed over the last five years. We will hear more about this from our lightning speakers and use this concept as our networking conversational prompt. While the event is primarily intended for networking, we will have a short segment at 5:30 to share important announcements and showcase women in our community who are doing great things. Introduction to Digital Trends, including what they do and what jobs they are hiring for. Meet entrepreneur Paige Hendrix Buckner, who went from teaching and directing public policy to founding a company that ensures businesses can easily gift locally-sourced items to their clients, at her company ClientJoy. A talk by Maarika Krumhansl, a mother of a young daughter and a Release Manager at Jama Software, about how she is a mama in tech. Remember, throughout the event we will have an activity table for people who want to create during the event. This is a fantastic way to meet others if large groups are not your thing. PDXWIT is a community-based non-profit organization. Our purpose is to strengthen the Portland women in tech community by offering educational programs, partnerships, mentorships, resources and opportunities. We are unifying a supportive environment for current and potential women in tech, all of whom are committed to helping each other. Our goal is to bring together and empower women in tech and to encourage others to pursue tech careers. This is our step towards reducing the gender imbalance in the industry and addressing the current negative effects of that imbalance on women. Trans and non-binary people are always welcome at our events.

Most designers may have heard something like, “learn to code like your life depends on it”. Some days it looks like everyone is searching for the mythical unicorn designer/developer. While individuals like this do exist that can cross disciplines, in general, this advice is misguided. Bad for you, bad for your team, and bad for your organization.
