create Calagator::Event 1250476043 Write the Docs August 2019 End of Summer Social Roll back

description nil Hello Documentarians! For the month of August, we're having a low-key, good old fashioned informal social. We're going to meet at Laughing Planet in NW Portland (very close to Beaverton), grab a table, and share our experiences as documentarians. We've heard your survey feedback about your venue and date preferences, and we're going to try having community meetups in a variety of settings. For the month of August, we're going to meet in the westside--closer to Beaverton and Hillsboro.

create Calagator::Event 1250476031 MIT Enterprise Forum Panel Discussion: Digital Transformation and the Future of Business Roll back

description nil Announcing the new MIT Enterprise Forum, Portland, Oregon Chapter! Panel Discussion: Digital Transformation and the Future of Business Did you know that: 97% of consumers search online to find a local business? 46% of Google searches are seeking local information? 88% of consumer local business searches on a mobile device result in a call or visit to the business within 24 hours? The digital age rewards change and punishes doing nothing. It is no longer, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” How are companies adapting to the changed (and changing) world, being the disrupters rather than the disrupted? Join us to hear four dynamo panelists how their companies drive digital transformations and how they successfully digitally transformed their businesses. create Calagator::Event 1250476025 Designing Edtech Landscapes for Colleges Roll back

description nil This meetup is the third in our series on designing for education and it is focused on the higher education space. In addition to our usual networking and mingling we have a wonderful guest speaker, Trina Marmarelli, who is the Director or Instructional Technology Services at Reed College. Trina will speak about the opportunities and challenges for incorporating technology in teaching and learning at small liberal arts colleges in general (and at Reed College in particular). She will discuss the educational technology landscape at small liberal arts colleges, how she partners with faculty members and staff outside of IT to design curricular technology projects, and considerations she keeps in mind when she evaluates and adopts new technologies at the college level. Beverages and snacks at Lucky Lab will be provided by Clarity Innovations. Bring your business cards (or post-its and a pen) and be ready to meet and reacquaint yourself with peers working at the intersection of education and technology. See you there!
