    Blake Thiess is a business leader with a focus and specialty in Talent Acquisition/Recruiting and Human Resources. Blake’s focused degree in Human Resource Management, Professional in Human Resources (PHR), and SHRM-CP show his understanding and strong commitment to the field of Human Resources and Talent Acquisition.

    Blake has spent the majority of his almost 10 year Talent Acquisition and Human Resources career in the senior living space, notably with Holiday Retirement and most recently with Prestige Care.

    Blake is a trusted internal and external consultant on all things recruiting for Prestige Care, and is known for his unmatched energy level and work ethic, ability to build relationships with internal stakeholders and external candidates, happy-go-lucky mindset, innovative orientation, and strong drive for success.     PDX Women in Tech (PDXWIT) Job Search Skills: Getting the Edge on the Competition

    Getting noticed as an applicant is tough these days. The competition is fierce and even if you have the perfect key words to make it past the automated screening, you still have to sell yourself. This two hour workshop will offer tips from someone on the employer side of applying, providing the inside edge on what we really look for in applicants. The second half of this session will cover all things interviews, from prepping through the time you walk out the door. Learn what‚—and what not— to do!

    This is a hands-on workshop so participants should bring a job posting they are interested in as well as a current resume.
