TiE Oregon is holding an event together with KS&Company, a public accounting firm, in order to address this issue.

For someone starting a business, addressing legal issues can be intimidating from both a cost and time perspective. Mapping a startup's initial legal needs can help create predictability around expenses, clarify questions of prioritization of expenses, and improve allocation of resources.

Gina Atwood, a business attorney with the Immix Law Group, will outline the common legal needs of startups – corporate formation and governance, contracts, IP and Securities. The presentation will provide education on some of the core legal issues faced by startup, and offer suggestions for how to improve the predictability of legal expenses. It will be followed by an interactive session where interested attendees will brainstorm with Gina about their startup needs.

This event is part of our ongoing Incubator series to provide information, guidance and networking to startups. The events will feature presentations by seasoned business leaders and leading firms including presentations by some of our Charter Members and sponsors.
