Intro to Git Workshop

Git is well over a decade old and still reigns King and is a de Facto Standard for many good reasons. Join us for an Intro to Git workshop where you will learn the basics of this powerful version-control tool.

We will walk through setting up a project on GitHub and will be using the command line to step through and understand a series of commands typically seen in a common workflow "Feature Branch".

At the end of the night you should have a general understanding of Git as a tool and how to use it from the command line to maintain proper version control of your code.

Additionally, she worked at Technology Projects, a web development company, The University of Tennessee at the Networking Division, and Chivor Co. at the Software Division. Alexandra holds MS in Computer Science form The University of Tennessee.

Alexandra invests her play time with her husband John, Her son Fergus and her two dogs sleighing at Mt Hood or traveling abroad.

A handful of panelists from Epicodus and Alchemy Code Lab will join us and they will share with us some of their experiences, challenges both in school and in hunting for jobs.

What: Event giving Latino startup entrepreneurs a platform to connect with the regions growing startup ecosystem.

When: First pitch will be at 6pm with doors opening at 5:30pm and everyone out by 7:30pm

How: Six entrepreneurs will get five minutes to pitch to the audience and then three minutes of questions about their idea. After the last pitcher has answered questions from the audience, attendees will then vote for the three winners who split the prize money equally.

Who: This event is organized in collaboration with Juan Barraza one of the founding members of Latino Founders @Latino_Founders , Edgar Navas CEO of Cliqa both of them organizers of PDX Startup Weekend Latino @pdxswlatino and Fabio Valentino founder of Latinx Tech PDX.

Always inspired by Stephen Green work at PitchBlack.

Where: Our gracious hosts are the great folks at Uncorked Studios

Cost: Tickets are $25 with ALL PROCEEDS from ticket sales going directly to the three winners.

"I want to pitch": Dont buy a ticket and instead create a low tech (cell phone) 30-second Youtube video about your idea and submit it via this google form. We will inform all Six pitchers Friday, March 29th so that they have time to put together their presentation slides.
