OCCA Meeting - Tuesday, May 31, 2011 – Red Lion Hotel Portland - Convention Center Scott Hanselman will be presenting WebMatrix, a new free tool from Microsoft that allows you to create, customize and publish websites that can grow with you, from design and installation to deployment and maintenance. It is one of the simplest tools for creating web sites that has come along in a long, long time. To get started you can select an application from the built-in gallery, containing such applications as DotNetNuke, Umbraco, WordPress, Drupal or Joomla. Or you can create your own masterpiece from scratch, written in either PHP or ASP.Net. Scott has made presentations to the OCCA before, and has always been well received and appreciated. Scott Hanselman works out of his home office for Microsoft as a Principal Program Manager, aiming to spread good information about developing software, usually on the Microsoft stack. Before this, for over 6 years, he was the Chief Architect at Corillian Corporation, now a part of Checkfree. He was also involved in a few Microsoft Developer things for many years like the MVP and RD programs and he'll speak about computers (and other passions) whenever someone will listen. |
