Course Description

This course is designed to teach a Microsoft Project Server Administrator the basic functionality of Project Server Admin. It assumes the student has a freshly installed environment needing configured, or has assumed an already installed environment needing modification

Learning Objectives

The learning objectives of this course are designed to help Project Managers and Administrators fully understand the Project Server 2010 environment and be capable of:

•Project Lifecycle Steps, Templates and Key Activities

•Create, Publish and Manage Project schedules with Project and Project Server

•Configure Project Server environment from the installation stage forward to the production environment, including but not limited to: Manage users, groups and security categories Manipulate and manage security templates Manage delegates Manage the Project Web Application permissions Create, manage and delete enterprise custom fields and associated lookup tables Create, manage and delete enterprise calendars

•Force Check-in objects Setup and Manage Active Directory synchronization

•Manage Daily and Administrative backups

•Create, manage and delete custom views, groups and Gantt chart formats

•Understand and create Fiscal Periods and Time Reporting Periods

This course is designed to teach a Microsoft® Project Server Project Managers the basic functionality of Project Server. Students will learn concepts to integrate Microsoft® Project Professional 2010 with Microsoft Project Server 2010, determine the various roles and permissions, learn to create and manage schedules, tasks and resources. Project Manager's learn concepts that enable individual views, groups and filters to be displayed, reporting options, and team collaboration functions incorporating SharePoint® 2010 through Project Web Application. PMs learn the concepts of task updates, status reports, timesheet functions and more when working using resources across an enterprise environment.

This course is designed to teach a Microsoft Project Server Team Members the basic functionality of Project Server. Students are acquainted with the Project Server interface, enabling them to filter, view and group their tasks, update tasks status, respond to project update reports. Students learn the concepts of task updates, timesheet updates and administrative time, learn to interact with the Project Collaboration Sites and communicate more efficiently as a team!
