This talk is an introduction to the MILS (Multiple Independent Layers of Security) architecture, motivated by the challenge of enforcing various kinds of security policies. I'll describe the goals of policy enforcement, traditional means of implementing security enforcement mechanisms, and the emerging MILS architecture for enforcing policies with high assurance. |
