MultiTech and Hackster.io Prototype to Production LoRa IoT Workshop

We invite developers and engineers to learn how to start the development of loT commercial solutions using pre-certified LoRaWAN hardware platforms and mbed.org to quickly create new “connected prototypes” This workshop guides programmers and tech professionals on how to crowd source libraries for sensors and peripherals using a cloud based IDE. Users will learn how to move data from edge sensor/processor to cloud platform as a service using a cellular and Long Range RF LoRa Modules. Product Managers and Business Development Leaders are welcome - learn how to build successful business practices and how to avoid the critical pitfalls of loT development. Industry executives from MultiTech, ARM, Semtech, Senet, and STMicroelectronics will be on hand to share valuable insight on developing and managing solutions in th marketplace. What attendees will learn: • Rapid prototyping using a cloud based compiler • Cellular communication to add macro-network • Crowd sourcing libraries to add drivers from common sensors and peripherals • How to use an application enablement platform to collect and store IoT data, obtain insights from it, and securely publish the data • Best practices for “concept-to-commercial” development and launch of loT solutions Who should attend: • Programmers that are familiar with C++ want to make their devices ‘connected’ • Business Development Managers focusing on IoT, looking to shorten time-to-market • Product Managers and Engineers looking to shorten time-to-development for products and services Space is Limited. Reserve Your Seat Today.

    RubyMotion Hack Night!

Greetings! This month we've decided to have a hack night! Bring a project to work on or pair with someone to learn something new. There will be a little "show and tell" for those who want to share and/or get feedback.

Want to learn how to build a mobile (or desktop, tv, or watch) app with RubyMotion? Come join us!

P.S. This month we don't have a pizza sponsor. However, feel free to bring your own food. Some of us may be getting some food from the nearby pub.

MotionPDX: Working with APIs, in depth

Last month, we got a taste of how RubyMotion (and RedPotion) can make mobile app development fun and easy. However, we barely scratched the surface of interacting with remote data and APIs. In this meeting we will dive deeper into working with APIs, including dealing with common authentication scenarios.

We will leave time at the end for Q&A/show&tell for you to show off any project you've been working on or to get help.

Note that our meeting will be held at a NEW location, sponsored by Notch8. Pizza and drinks will be provided!

If you missed our last meeting, or you want a recap of what we learned, check out our new website and blog posts: http://motionpdx.github.io
