Do you like maps, problem-solving environmental issues, or programming? If so, you might be interested in remote sensing of geospatial science! Join Heather Borunda-Ferguson and other women in the industry for an introduction to remote sensing technology. You will be learning about remote sensing technologies including LiDAR, aerial imagery, hyperspectual imagery and field collection procedures.
Speakers will explain their educational background and how you can enter this growing and in-demand industry. Remote sensing has many opportunities for women. Geospatial science provides an opportunity for women all across the technical and management spectrums and is a well-kept secret considering it is a multi-billion dollar industry.

Purpose:
PDXWIT is a community-based non-profit organization. Our purpose is to strengthen the Portland women in tech community by offering: educational programs, partnerships, mentorships, resources and opportunities. We are unifying a supportive environment for current and potential women in tech, all of whom are committed to helping each other. Our goal is to bring together and empower women in tech and to encourage others to pursue tech careers. This is our step towards reducing the gender imbalance in the industry and addressing the current negative effects of that imbalance on women.
Trans and non-binary people are always welcome at our events.
