create Calagator::Event 1250461501 Braided Parallelism - A Programmers Perspective Benedict Gaster, Programming Models Architect, AMD Roll back

description nil GPU architectures are often described in confusing and overly optimistic terms. The AMD Fusion APU architecture provides improvements in communication latency and bandwidth between devices, so the problem of choosing the right core on which to execute code becomes both more acute and more flexible as communication between tasks becomes easier. But as the CPU and GPU become ever closer, how does one program these machines? This talk takes a look at these emerging architectures; touches on the current parallel programming models for CPUs and GPGPUs; and follows this with a perspective on what future programming models for heterogeneous architectures will look like.

update Calagator::Event 1250461496 PDMA Learning and Networking Event - Ethnographic 3D Animation Roll back

description Companies are challenged with creating innovative product and services to compete and win in their markets. They must find ways to get new product ideas developed in cultures where it is often difficult to create breakthroughs. They must also continually create customer value - perhaps outside of a typical value chain, and more of a value network. Managing costs is also a factor, and being able to reuse and repurpose assets all along the product development and marketing process is key. Bringing customer insights to the forefront of the process is often difficult in organizations where it is safer and more acceptable to do things the way you’ve been doing them. Today, many companies are competing not only on superior technology or superior innovation, but also superior user experience. Instead of giving an engineer or planner a written use case, what if you gave them an animated scenario where that case is played out – allowing them to ‘see’ and ‘feel’ what needs to happen, instead of just putting a requirement to it and starting to build something? The Oregon Chapter of the Product Development and Management Association (PDMA) invites you to its November Learning and Networking Event. At this event, Kate Ertmann, who is also presenting the same topic at the PDMA 35th Product Innovation and Management Annual Global Conference, will discuss and demonstrate how animation can be used as a business tool throughout the ideation process, product development process and marketing process, and can help streamline time to market. She will also show how to leverage digital assets for later use in marketing campaigns. Companies are challenged with creating innovative product and services to compete and win in their markets.
