create Calagator::Event 1250476058 Quantified Self Discussion Night Roll back

description nil This is our monthly informal meetup for the Portland QS community. The idea is for us to get together and talk about what we are working on and learning from our data and self-experiments. There won't be formal talks, but if you want to show others what you are working on, there will be a projector on hand. Food and drinks are going to be potluck style. If you can, bring something that you can share with others. It doesn't need to be elaborate. A simple snack is great. If you plan on coming, please mention something that you would like to discuss as a comment on the event. It may be a project that you are currently doing or a more general topic. Looking forward to seeing what you are up to!

description nil ***Registration through Eventbrite [https://www.eventbrite.com/e/pdxwit-presents-october-happy-hour-networking-event-tickets-69804149089] is required to gain entry to this event *** Join us for happy hour at Viewpoint on October 15th! We have all experienced uncertainty in our lives and career, but sometimes this uncertainty can lead us in amazing directions. This month’s theme will be “Pivoting from uncertainty to passion.” To help get the networking flowing we will be using the conversation prompt “How have you overcome uncertainty in your career?” While the event is primarily intended for networking, we will have a short segment at 5:30 p.m. to share important announcements and showcase three members of our community. A representative from our host company Viewpoint will share what they do and what job opportunities are available at the company Kathy Lee, Software Engineer at Microsoft, will give a lightning talk titled "How to push through uncertainty into potential" Molly Lindquist, Founder and CEO at Consano, will talk about Channeling Personal Crisis into Professional Passion During the event, we’ll have more to do than free-form networking: An Activity Table where people can get creative. This is a fantastic way to meet others if large groups are not your thing. If you have trouble finding it, look for Meg Aul, our Event Activities Director. Table Topics to help break the ice. A section for job seekers and those hiring, to ensure people get connected. create Calagator::Event 1250476047 PDX Shopify Meetup - Develop a Brand Story to Maximize Conversions Roll back

description nil Ever wonder why companies such as TOMS, Everlane and Cliff Bar are so successful? These brands have created a core brand story that is consistently supported throughout all of their communications be it on their website, email, social media, and more. Join us as Charlotte Chipperfield, Founder and Chief Storyteller of Chipperfield Media (https://chipperfieldmedia.com), walks us through how to develop our own brand story that resonates with our customers. Falling in love with stories from a young age, Charlotte Chipperfield gravitated towards a career in marketing where brand stories can come alive. Having worked for both start-ups and national brands, Charlotte gained an in-depth understanding of digital marketing and especially fell in love with social media, a tool that allows any brand to connect with customers at any given moment of the day. In 2014, Charlotte founded Chipperfield Media and is a regular contributor to online marketing publications, having built a reputation as an expert thought leader and speaker in the digital marketing space. create Calagator::Event 1250476046 PHPDX - Laravel and Vue.js Roll back

description nil <p>Food, learning and a great time to network with the fabulous PHP Community! This month Kurtis Holsapple will be showing us how to Laravel and Vue.js work together.</p> <p>Kurtis is a developer here in Portland, OR who loves making things work, which is why he loves both Laravel and Vue.JS. Laravel is the most starred full stack framework on Github (54k stars at the time of writing) and it comes out of the box bootstrapped and ready to go with Vue.js. Because Laravel a server side framework, you have everything you need to get started writing an amazing web application out of the box. Because Vue.js is amazing, the Laravel community has adopted this frontend framework to make your life easier whenever you need to use Javascript. If you're curious about how well Vue can integrate with other tooling, this talk is for you! Evan You, the creator of Vue.js, has talked at the last three years of Laracon US.</p> <p>We'll talk about how you can use VueJS with Laravel, the tooling around modern PHP (composer, PHPUnit, etc), Laravel Mix (the Webpack configuration ready to go with Laravel) and more. Join us for a night of fun code examples and more!</p> <p>This is a companion talk focused more on the Laravel/PHP side of things. Join us at the Portland Vue.js meetup to continue this talk, but that one will focus more on the Vue side of things. <a href="https://www.meetup.com/Portland-Vue-js-Meetup/events/262453723/" class="linkified">https://www.meetup.com/Portland-Vue-js-Meetup/events/262453723/</a></p>
