create Calagator::Event 1250476967 PDXWIT Online: Experienced Women in Tech - Extreme Makeover: Story Edition Roll back

description nil ***Registration through Eventbrite [https://www.eventbrite.com/e/102140689552} is required to gain entry to this event *** Are you a woman with 15 or more years of experience working in technology? Do you want to spend time with other women in tech who understand your point of view as someone who has been in this industry for a while? PDXWIT’s Experienced Women in Tech events work to foster a community for women like you. We tell stories all the time: to persuade someone to support our idea, to explain to an employee how they might improve, or to inspire a team that is facing challenges. It’s an essential skill. But what makes a compelling story? And how can you improve your ability to tell stories that persuade? Learn techniques to use in an interview when you want to convey your experience in a compelling and interesting way. Tell a story to generate the attention you need to move a project forward. On May 21st, join PDXWIT and host Edgelink for an entertaining and practical event where you will learn: Why storytelling is such an important skill How to use common narrative structures to make your stories more memorable and effective How to apply these techniques to your own stories Bring a story of your own (factual or fictional); you will have a chance to give it a makeover, and to learn from others as they do the same. The evening will involve a story about storytelling, and then we'll break out into small groups and rewrite the story you brought with you — or write one while you're there. We'll reconvene with a few examples of your story makeover and hear how you used a new framework to enhance your story. Phil Weber, a professional trainer, fantastic storyteller and local musician will coach us on techniques that can transform the way we tell a tale. Agenda: 5:30 p.m. - Webinar open /networking 6:00 p.m. - PDXWIT Introductions and Announcements 6:15 p.m. - Host welcome 6:30 p.m. - Presentation/Panel Begins 7:00 p.m. - More networking 7:30 p.m. - Event Ends Purpose: PDXWIT is a community-based non-profit organization. Our purpose is to strengthen the Portland women in tech community by offering educational programs, partnerships, mentorships, resources and opportunities. We are unifying a supportive environment for current and potential women in tech, all of whom are committed to helping each other. Our goal is to bring together and empower women in tech and to encourage others to pursue tech careers. This is our step towards reducing the gender imbalance in the industry and addressing the current negative effects of that imbalance on women. Our events are inclusive. ALL people who support our purpose are welcome.

create Calagator::Event 1250476964 Remote Open Source Contribution Night - Project & Issue Searching Roll back

description nil Have a free night on Wednesday? Why not use it to contribute to an open source project? With the (you-know-the-reason) forcing events to cancel, join us as we collaborate on an open source project. This first session will be mainly a discussion as we hunt for a good project to take a look at--perhaps something people find useful and necessary but in desperate need of fixing. Once we do we'll crawl the issues list to find one that would be a good collaboration issue. The next sessions we'll assign roles and design a solution.

create Calagator::Event 1250476963 A Complete Walkthrough: Setting Up Facebook Ads with Shopify Roll back

description nil ***Registration through Zoom https://zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_gjNoDEEqS56rQ3eGTx3GVg is required to gain entry to this event *** Are you interested in generating more traffic and sales for your Shopify store during these challenging times? You’ve probably heard that now is a great time to reach your potential customers with social advertising, with more people at home and using social media than ever before (Facebook is reporting a 70% usage increase!) But if you haven’t run social ads before, or have tried but hit roadblocks, you might be hesitant to get started. We’ll walk you through each step of the building and launching a best-practice social advertising campaign for your Shopify store with expert guidance from Brett Fish, Founder, and Principal at SCOPO Marketing, a Facebook Marketing Partner agency. In this comprehensive walk-through, Brett will show you how to structure your campaigns, build targeted audiences, and create effective ads that connect with your customers and drive more traffic and sales for your store. ***One note - prior to the meetup (and ASAP) you'll need to create and have a Facebook Business Manager account in place (which you can do by going to https://business.facebook.com/ and following the steps, or following this help article https://www.facebook.com/business/help/1612355968988019). We’ll be walking through the Business Manager, and often Facebook won’t allow you to take certain steps unless you have an existing account for at least a few days. Brett is the Founder and Principal at SCOPO Marketing, a Facebook Agency Partner and Facebook Marketing Partner for Technical Services that helps businesses generate more awareness, engagement, and revenue with targeted social media advertising. A Facebook-Certified professional, he has developed social marketing and advertising strategies that have generated millions of dollars in new revenue for his clients like Lucky Brand Clothing, Pieology Pizzeria, and La Colombe Coffee.

description nil Professors make their students write essays, because essays have become a good measure of their academic success. It is through essays that professors try to determine how well their students have learned the material. Essays give professors a better opportunity to monitor their students' progress. Based on the results, they are willing to provide assistance to improve their students' grades. Unfortunately, such responsible professors are rare. Most tutors use essay writing simply to grade and fail their students. Thus, if you do not understand the subject or hate the topic, you can do nothing about it.
