Soulful Giving Foundation is proud to host the second annual Artful Giving Blanket Concert, a special benefit for Providence Cancer Research Center of Hope on Saturday, July 16th from 11am – 5pm at the private Yoshida Estate in Troutdale. Artful Giving Blanket Concert, presented by Fred Meyer, will raise funds for cancer research by celebrating art in all its forms. Steve Dunn, KATU anchor, will present the outstanding musical lineup including: 2010 Soul Blues Male Artist of the Year, Curtis Salgado; funk and soul group, Soul Vaccination; Soul diva, Linda Hornbuckle; Sonny Hess and the Northwest Women Rhythm & Blues; concert rock violinist, Aaron Meyer. Hand-selected artists will showcase their services and finest pieces for purchase. Guests will enjoy menu samplings from 10 of Portland’s top restaurants including Morton’s The Steakhouse, El Gaucho, and Portland City Grill. Complimentary wine tastings will be available courtesy of Duck Pond Cellars. “The uniqueness of this event derives from its vast appeal and singular purpose,” said Junki Yoshida, founding member of Soulful Giving Foundation. “Artful Giving Blanket Concert will feature artists of all forms and food and beverages for all tastes. We’re excited to be joined by our corporate partners to bring together terrific performances in an effort to find a cure for cancer.” With the help of the local community, corporate partners and more than 200 attendees at the Artful Giving event in 2010, the Foundation raised more than $20,000 to support Providence Cancer Center. This year, Soulful Giving Foundation is proud to be supported by leaders in the fight against cancer as honorary chairs of the event: Governor John Kitzhaber, Senator Ron Wyden, Senator Jeff Merkley, State Treasurer Ted Wheeler and Lynn and David Frohnmayer. The Foundation hopes to more than double their support this year for the Cancer Center.
