The hip hop icon and Grammy Award-winning reggae star join forces to tour the UK with their collaborative album Distant Relatives. The album features the signature instrumentation and musicianship of Marley alongside the hard-hitting beats and lyrics of rapper Nas. The title of the album refers to the bond between the artists and also the connection to their African ancestry and the bond with the entire human race, which inspired the album both musically and lyrically. The album was released to positive reviews and debuted at number five on the US chart. The album fuses the sounds of the two artists together which creates a sound which is different to what is expected by each artist. Artists collaborating on the album include K'naan, Joss Stone, Stephen Marley and Lil Wayne. The first song to be release from the duo's album is As We Enter, which entered the UK top 40.
