Andrew will join us to discuss the Cybersecurity sector and how to land your first job in the Tech Industry. Andrew has spent over eight years in tech sales, with over four years directly in Cybersecurity. He joined the Tech Academy to transition into the tech sector and learn about the importance of front-end development in an effort to become a project manager. After graduating, Andrew found his first tech job at Adpearance in Portland; the rest is history.
In this Talk, Andrew will discuss:
- Why Cybersecurity, and why now?
- How do you land an initial job, and what is the career projection?
- What does a typical day look like for a cybersecurity sales professional?
- How did The Tech Academy prepare you for the role?

Andrew currently works at Akamai Technologies and is a Major Account Executive responsible for companies with over $1b in revenue in Oregon, Alabama, Hawaii, Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, Montana, Arizona, and New Mexico.
