Please join the Portland State Business Accelerator for a conversational Q & A with Vinay Iyengar of Two Sigma, a systematic investment management firm, founded with the goal of applying cutting-edge technology to the data-rich world of finance. From infrastructure tools and healthcare to real estate and consumer hardware, Two Sigma supports data- and computing-driven transformation in every industry.
Vinay joined Two Sigma Ventures in 2020 as a founding member of the firm’s West Coast practice. He focuses on early-stage investments in enterprise software, machine learning, marketplaces, and infrastructure.
Vinay’s background is as a technologist and builder. He has spent time over the years as a researcher, engineer, and software entrepreneur, and shares a deep empathy with founders solving technical problems. Most recently, Vinay was an investor at Bessemer Venture Partners, where he sourced and led several early and growth-stage investments.
Vinay earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science and economics from Harvard. In his spare time he can be found listening to hip-hop, cheering on his hometown Portland Trail Blazers, and exploring his interests at the intersection of policy, tech, and investing.
