In today’s tech companies, we are asked to do more with less, be available 24/7, and act as “team players.” Within these fast-paced, often male-dominated environments — with few policies and typically unclear reporting hierarchies — our ability to negotiate what we need to be successful is more important than ever.
Join Elizabeth Robillard, a leader in Portland’s startup scene and VP of Partnerships & Operations at Lytics, for practical advice on how to manage your own career and how to negotiate for yourself more effectively. Whether you are looking for new opportunities such as a promotion, better work/life balance, buy-in on a new project, more support, or credit for your work, this talk will offer concrete strategies on how to reach your goals.
The speaking segment will be from 6:00-7:00pm with Q&A to follow.
PDXWIT is a community-based non-profit organization. Our purpose is to strengthen the Portland women in tech community by offering educational programs, partnerships, mentorships, resources and opportunities. We are unifying a supportive environment for current and potential women in tech, all of whom are committed to helping each other. Our goal is to bring together and empower women in tech and to encourage others to pursue tech careers. This is our step towards reducing the gender imbalance in the industry and addressing the current negative effects of that imbalance on women.
