<p>Mapping software leader <a href="http://www.esri.com/">Esri</a> was a brand new startup back in 1969 and grew into the privately-owned billion dollar business it is today.</p> <p>In 2010, <a href="https://twitter.com/caseorganic">Amber Case</a> and <a href="https://twitter.com/aaronpk">Aaron Parecki</a> founded and launched <a href="http://www.geoloqi.com/">Geoloqi</a> as a Portland startup that provides a location-based services platform on a wide variety of devices. </p> <p>The mutual success and compatibility of these two companies brought a merger in 2012, and Geoloqi became the newest Esri R&D Center, with Amber as Director and Aaron as CTO, doubling in size since then.</p> <p>Stop on by the Esri R&D Center here in Portland to meet the folks there, see what they’ve built and are building next, and network with others interested in learning more about the technology that drives the power of Where. </p> <p>If you’re a developer, pick up a free license to mapping apps, APIs, and SDKs <a href="http://developers.arcgis.com/">here</a>. </p> <p>As for this Happy Hour, bring your techy curiosity and we’ll bring the food and drinks.
